If you plan on changing the HU get it without the bose and put in some real amps / speakers. I'm about to try and run an aftermarket HU and use the factory bose amp so I'll let you know how it works out,.

The only problem with that is the Bose amp and head unit both have sort of a "filter" when it comes to the music that is played through them. In order to get the true sound coming from your media, you either have to purchase a kit that can bypass the factory filters, or switch out the head unit and amp. I chose to take out the amp and HU and am putting it in some point this week and let you know how it is...

What i wouldnt give for premium package.

We have the 'studio on wheels' in the 08 and it is AWESOME for a stock radio.

Had the upgraded Bose in the 04 and that sounded decent as well.

My 05's stereo is OKAY, but i wish it was the bose.

Did you end up selling this? I am considering doing the same and was wondering what I might be able to get for it.

I have several very good audio systems in my home and any car system I have heard would not compare to a good home system. I have never heard a good Bosey home speaker system, 901's, whatever. My problem with my G's Bose system is that the radio sounds like sh--t. Playing CD's sounds ok. So is there a problem with the radio or the antenna, or is it just the way it is ?

Amp wasnt bad. I just pulled the trunk linking outta the way and unbolted it from the bottom. In order to get the sub out you have to take apart the rear seats. Here is my DIY for that and you will see why its not worth it...

I have both the bose and the intelligent key. For me the bose is kinda jekyll and hyde. Somethings sound great on it, while others sound awful. For the most part it is acceptable. The intelligent key is an awesome feature to me. It does make it confusing when i go to drive either of my other cars and i have to use a remote and key.

Uhh...duh

A car is probably, acoustically, the WORST environment possible. That's why things such as time alignment were introduced. While this will cure a lot of woes, there's still a LOT to be desired when compared to ANY decent home audio setup.
