Do the idle re-learn steps, search for it on here. It's a common problem.

How you done anything to the engine recently? Might want to do some engine maintenance if you have not yet.

I have a similar situation..

I installed (myself) the MD spacer a few weeks ago and everything has been fine except for two times my car has died after the engine turned.. wasn't even in that cold of weather. I never messed with the MAF (I don't think, I was moving and adjusting the top plenum alot though.. ) Anyways, my friend said when you disconnect the battery the computer self adjusts for the next week?? Anyways should I reset anything? (Idle, ECU)

reset it just take the battery off for a while and make sure all your bolts and connects are tight. If not it is probably a dirty/destroyed sensor.

Is it a 5AT? Do you have an aftermarket intake?

Could be MAF sensor, could be TB position, could be slight vacuum leak, could be loose plenum if you installed a spacer and it has come loose.

Any codes?

I installed the spacer with a nut wrench driver (I think they're called) but according to the booklet that's fine if you don't over torque. I also tightend them all in 3 steps (40, 60, 100 or whatever..) The only thing I wasn't sure about was what I had the top plenumn resting on. It's kind of like a switch looking thing with what looked to be tape around it..

Other members have complained about their 03-06 5AT G's dying, usually while driving. As far as I know all of them traced it back to their aftermarket intakes. After they put the stock one back on the problem went away. While I think your situation is different, it certainly couldn't hurt to try.

i had a similar starting starting issue with my G as you described. After having the throttle body serviced all was fixed. The infiniti tech said the carbon build build was causing the valve to stick. Hope you get it fixed soon.

this is exactly why I've not touched the engine as far as intake and plenum spacer etc--just don't have the time to trouble shoot potential issues. The reliability of my G is the most important thing over xtra performance.

N E way, good luck fixing this.

I'm still not sure if this is really an issue though. Like I said I've only had it die twice in what is now maybe a month (and I drive my car just about everyday) And It has been starting great in the snow/ice that we have been seeing in the past few days. I don't think I'm going to worry about it unless it starts doing it some more. But does anyone know what part I'm talking about when I said I rested the top plenum on that switch looking thing?

Also, can someone briefly sum up what it means to get your car 'tuned' and about how much it costs at a shop? And would you suggest it if you've changed your intake slightly and added a spacer?
