Where is the AC intake? I could not find it... I put the air on recirc and I held my hand near what looks like an air vent on the side of the centre console but did not feel any air moving. Is the intake under the glove box?

THANKS!

Fairly common issue that Nissan/Inf has had for a while. Best solution is a quarterly/monthly treatment of Lysol into the AC intake like LeadFoot recommends. I haven't had the need on the G35 yet, but you basically blast the AC/Defrost and then spray the Lysol (or whatever) into the external vents at the bottom of the windshield and that way it circulates all the way through

I think I saw this same thread in the coupe forum earlier. Kinda of deja-vu'y. Anyway, a simple solution is to turn off AC and let outside air circulate in through the vents for a few minutes before you shut the car off. The smell is mildew in the A/C pan thing. I had it too, sort of smelled skunky - started turning off the A/C for about a minute before I got home and the smell went away.

Nevermind, it was in this forum, about halfway down the front page.

TBone implied that this is a Nissan/Infiniti proble. You`ll find this same topic on nearly every board. I first noticed it on Dodge Ram boards when I got my latest truck. Next was the Acura boards when I got my TL. Moist, hot air aids & abets mold and mildew, regardless of the car brand.

1st I drive the 2nd to the last mile without recirculation and then the last mile/1/2 mi with no a/c--just fan on with fresh air coming in. I do this more than 1/2 the time and no smell. No smell on my wife's vq and she never does this.
