ok...just googled it. The auto's have 280 and the 6mt's have 298hp. Since my buddies coupe is an auto like mine, it must have just been my imagination that his car "felt" faster. I agree that even if he did have 10hp more, I wouldn't feel that. Cars just seem to feel more impressive when you are sitting in the passenger seat.

Wait, I thought the coupes have the rev up motors while the sedans have the regular motors. Which is why I am under the impression that coupes are suppose to be faster.......?

^^^ are you sure you aren’t comparing rev-up vs non-rev-up?... If so, those aren’t the same... rev-up gained a bit of top end, but gave of low-mid... BTW, with proper mods a non-revup can easily beat a rev-up… against HR it gets more difficult.

But engine for engine (as stated earlier) whether its a DE non-rev-up, rev-up, HR, VHR... they are THE SAME ENGINE whether you put them in a sedan, a coupe, or a Z. Put them on an engine dyno and they will read the same.

It sounds to me like the MT you reference has a rev-up and the sedan is non rev-up... BTW, the 280 claimed hp is the same engine that previously was reported 260... just Nissan Marketing voodoo...

not all coupes have rev-up...

You guys are getting your brains scrambled here... compare cars with the SAME ENGINE.

Comparing cars with different engines and saying one body style is faster makes absolutely NO SENSE
.

IS there a reflash that works for the 03.0 ECU? Can the ECU be swapped?
Technosquare is a great choice for your year... the only problem is that since you are not local you will need to send them your ECU and they will flash and ship back.

I used to have TS and was pleased... for early model DEs that don’t have Osiris option, I highly recommend TS... even for late models its still a good choice (but I favor Osiris).

Actually, some years of the coupe had a more powerful engine. In 03 and 04, the sedan had 260hp while the coupe had a full 280. For 05, the auto sedan got the 280 engine, while the 6mt's got the 298hp version.

wow, you have a hard time with reading comprehension... the 260 and 280 engines were both DE nonrevep... Nissan announced higher hp, but it has been determined that they have the same power output... the 298 is a rev-up.

I've said the same thing in about 5 posts now.

You guys need to read up on these engines - there are plenty of sources on this and many other forums.

Oh gee, my bad. I'm sorry that I couldn't properly sort through 3 pages of b.s. and that my answer, information coming from several sites, wasn't correct when it should have been. Simply trying to help and not owning one of these cars (as of now), it would be a waste of my time to read up further on the engine.

It happens. The point is that even 03 sedans actually made around 280hp.

That's definitely interesting. Everything I've seen also quotes slower 0-60 times though, around 6.2, and I'm guessing that's for the 6mt. I've seen mid vies for the coupe.

19" Rays heavier? How so? I just got some myself and they are lighter than the OEM 17" rims. Not by much, but still noticeable.

Personal preference. Coupes do have the ability for more visual mods, but some, like myself prefer sedans. People underestimate sedans...when you got a beefed up a sedan, and it looks stock, aka sleeper, it's quite a shock to those you are looking at in your rear view mirror and doing a little
