For reference though, the oem 17" Z wheel is about 24 lbs each. I can't find a weight spec for the G oem 17s though. But I think I'm ball park right about the my wheel/tire coming in about 45 lbs.

My aftermarket 18" combo weighs 1lb less overall than my OEM 17s. The width of the 18" combo is 1.2" wider than the 17s. Overall, when I swap rims, my MPGs drop a solid 1-2mpg. That means the car is using my fuel/power to overcome the drag.
Hmm... fixed! While the bigger wheels requires lower profile tires which will be better for response, your turning radius has increased too.

And IMO, while weight does matter, size matters just as much.

Everything with cars is about balance. If it's not balanced, then it's either a give or take like DaveB is talking about.

lol when I said a delay I ment, the car doesnt pick up as fast/acclerate as it did with the 17's.
DaveB hit what I was thinking/ment... Im sorry but I still think the 19's are gonna slow you down some. And I know (Less tire more rims) can equal a tire with (more rubber and air & less rim). lol.....
I wished I still had my stocks so I could Weight them for own prefrence.

So while we're on this discussion. Do my 15lb volk CE28 (18") with Bridgestone RE01R's weigh in at less than stock?

The cast 17" 17" wheel is NOT heavy. At least the premium wheels aren't. Just because a wheel is cast, doesn't mean it's heavy. It's very, very difficult to make a 19" wheel match the weight of a 17" wheel. The rear forged 19s are about 21lbs each. A rear 19 with a Michelin pilot sport (light for it's size) 255-35-19 comes in at about 45 lbs.

If I remember right, my blizzak and oem 17 weighed in at about 45lbs or so. The blizzak is 25 lbs so that puts the oem 17 at about 20lbs. I'll weigh them again when I swap.

Now the oem 18s are pretty heavy (Z and coupe). About 6 lbs each heavier than the Z track forged 18. 19lbs vs 25 lbs
I just weighed my 215-55-17 blizzak and oem wheel. 45 lbs. And from my other calculations for the fronts (coupe 19 and tire at 43 lbs), that's about right. I lifted both and my 19" combo is lighter. And my rears felt slightly heavier at 47lbs.

Just swapped my 17s for my 18s today. My OEM Sport 17s with new 215/55R17 Falkens weighed in at 44lbs. My 18" ASAs with slightly used 235/45 P-Zeros weighed 46lbs.

Coupes are faster than Sedans?

OEM 19's are heavy?

My dyno made better numbers than yours?

Why would sedans have greater drivetrain loss?
