Sedans are as fast as coupes. go and tune
Oh DRIVESHAFT. Yeah, that's probably true
My 03 sedan weighs less than the 06 Z from numbers I saw a while ago. Not by much though, around 50lbs if I remember right.
Z Uses a C/F driveshaft? Why don't we see more threads about people swapping driveshafts? Especially in the automatic models, as you would gain back some of the pathetic drivetrain loss our slushbox has.

I've looked into getting one piece cf drive shaft made - but it costs $1100 (iirc) and they need to mock up with OEM drive shaft which renders it destroyed (something I'm not willing to be the guinea pig for).
There have been posts about it in the past...
A stock Gen-1 G35 (any year) will always be slower than a stock 350Z (any year) given the same tranny.
My '03 Z 6MT would eat my '06 G35 6MT for lunch... straight line or twisties.
What's with people here and their delusions?

Orly?
JUST yesterday i ATE a Z for dinner... Sowy....
It's because the magazines, brochures, and any other documentation in relation to 0-60 times say so. People don't realize how much 2 important factors make a difference.
1. The driver
2. Road and environment conditions
If going through traffic and whatnot, which is highly unsafe, the better skilled the driver and the one who thinks ahead and plans things better, usually the winner as long as the vehicles are pretty matched up. Even through light traffic this applies.

Traffic racing is highly uncondonable by me. (Is that a word?)
Even on a track it's all up to the driver.
There's probably a very good reason that no one else has been able to take the GTR to the same times Nissan posted. DRIVER.

Delusional? No. I'm not an idiot or a G nutswinger. You said the Z had a "substanial power advantage". That's simply not true. The power is basically the same. The Z's acceleration advantage comes from a 100 to 170lb curb weight advantage and a 8" shorter wheelbase which greatly improves 60' potential.
