My 3rd brake light will be bright as hell one moment then randomly gets dim while on the brake peddle. Any one know what this is about or have the same problem? I tried searching and couldn't find any thing on it.
Also about to do my tranny fluid is it the synthetic or regular fluid?

Mine was working irratically but it was on / off. I finally replaced it. WHAT a total pain. There's no reason at all to make the far right mounting screw THAT hard to get at. I was ready to use a hole saw to make an access for it. But I finally got it out and installed the replacement with only one screw. It's been holding up okay. I think I used double stick tape for the other side.
It's pretty common. Some people replace a diode for 14¢ and say that does the trick.
A new LED assembly is over $100.

I have it under warranty still (a lexus gold warranty) that supposedly covers everything except brake pads and burnt out lights and stuff like that so I wonder if they'll fix this since it is a diode and not a light burnt out.
Also thanks for the comments on the title, if you want attention you have to have a clever hook.

as for warranty coverage, give your dealer a try. gather your information so when you speak with them you are well informed. if this truly is an electrical problem then don't let them bully you into paying for what should be covered by the warranty. hopefully this isn't one of those annoying electrical problems that seems to go away whenever you get near a dealer.

It is, last time I went in they said they couldn't repeat the problem
even after I told them it was sperattic so they just didn't fix it.
And a lot of things come to mind when thinking about Jessica Simpson but this would not be the appropriate place to discuss those LOL.
