Rim/wheel question/ Need help bad
I have been looking for rims for my 04 G35x and I came across a set that I like for pretty much half off the retail price. The shop that is selling them has had them forever and wants to get rid of them. The only problem is the fronts are 18x9 and the rears are 18x10 first can I even fit a 10in wide rim on the G second I know you are not supposed to stagger rims on the X but if I get the tires on the rims and ALL FOUR are the same diameter will I have any problems? I need my AWD so its not an option to pull the fuse... or am I SOL ???
Says who??
As long as the tires are the same diameter, the width of the wheels does not matter. The car doesn't know how wide the rubber is on the ground. ALl it cares is that the front and rear wheels spin at the same speed.
I am waiting back on an email for the offset...
Fronts are easy. 235/45-18 = 26.3", 245/40-18 = 25.7", 245/45-18 = 26.7", 255/40-18 = 26.1", 255/45-18 = 26.9". I'd go with the wider tires, the 235's will be pretty stretched on those 9" wheels.
But, those 10" rims are going to be a little harder to fit. 255/40-18 = 26.1", 265/40-18 = 26.3", 275/40-18 = 26.6", 285/35-18 = 25.9". You really shouldn't go below 255 in width, the tire won't fit a wheel that wide (even some 255's are questionable). These sizes are approximate. The specific tire you get may be .1"-.2" different. And if you go really wide, you need to check your offset. There are other threads and other people who know a lot more about that than I do.
