4000+ rpm

I'm new to infiniti, Is it okay to run the car between 4000-5000 rpm on a regular basis?

Re: 4000+ rpm

Absolutely, I see no problem taking it to redline on a regular basis as long as the car is in good shape and warmed up.

In fact, not running it hard occassionally creates increased carbon buildups and stuff.

The engine generally can handle stress a lot better then the trannies.

I'm looking for an exhaust and wanted to hear your opinion on the Stillen exhaust. Right now it's a toss up between the Stillen and the Borla. What made you go with the Stillen?

Re: 4000+ rpm

Nobody,

I went with the Stillen for the following reasons:

- they have been a Nissan modifier for a long time
- the Stillen is a total of 4 pieces vs 16 (I think) for the Borla
- all the gear head technicians in the two Colorado Infiniti dealers recommended the Stillen
- the Stillen had the better hp gain
- I think it has an awesome sound on my 6-mt sedan, and it does NOT drone (imo)
- I got it at a deep discount from Avalon Racing (they had a brand new "extra" one in stock)
- Paul at Avalon Racing recommended it over any other brand
- and last, but by NO MEANS least, it has snazzy "Stillen" embossed twin tips :-]

I'm sure others have their own opinions, and they're certainly just as good as mine!

Hope this helps!

I'll tell you straight up - if I find out that you are NOT running your car up to at LEAST 4,000 RPM on a regular basis, I will personally report you the the SPCI (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Infinitis).

Seriously, nothing worse than a "driver's car" that is not DRIVEN.

You're okay above 4,000 rpm. But I better not find you posting on the "I get bad gas mileage" thread.

Should be fine as long as its a well maintained car.

Re: 4000+ rpm

I recently posted a video of my sedan going above 4000 rpms and with the Stillen exhaust no less.

If you told me I couldn't do that on a regular basis I'd give the car to the Salvation Army.
