Warranty & Customer Service
Warranty & Customer Service
So I picked up my 06 G35x this weekend and love it, however the AC doesnt seem to blow cold air. A friend of mine looked under the hood and said it looked like there wasnt a belt on the compressor (does that make sense?). Anyways, so i call Infinit and schedule a visit and the guy tells me it may not be covered under warranty because they have no service records. I then told him i have a carfax with all the service records that were not done at a dealer and he said that would help my case. The guy overall had a lazy, and irritating tone. Is this really the quality of service Infiniti provides? I mean for a luxury car that cost so much, id expect the best service there is to be had. Ive owned a cadillac before this and their customer service was second to none, they even replaced an engine 2 weeks before the warranty expired without blinking an eye.
Infiniti will have record of all service provided at any Infiniti dealership. This guy was being lazy and obviously doesn't want a pay check this week. Check another dealership if there is one in your area. If not, have a nice little conversation with the service director.
If all else fails call Infiniti Customer Care

But for reference since you're a new owner:
Ive only had it for about 70 hours plus i basically have no experience working on cars sooo cut me some slack. Anyways, thanks for the diagram, guess it does have a separate AC belt.

My Infiniti dealer is horrible too (White Plains NY). My Mazda got treated like royalty compared to this car. I must say though it is all in the individual dealer. Hopefully you have a second option. I would go wherever you bought it and demand that they put on the AC belt. If you didnt buy it at the dealer, then they wont and shouldn't have to pay for it.
If you don't have two belts, you should take it back to the place you purchased it and show them the diagram.
My Infiniti dealer also turned up their noses when I took my 05 Sedan in for a loud ticking nose when they couldn't find any Infiniti service records...
I had to show them my service log that I keep - I do my own services.
I ran down to Nissan to have them print up a log of the filters I've purchased over the years.
They called me later in the day to tell my 'Corporate' approved the work.
I don't like the snobbish attitude those azzclowns had, but I have no choice when it comes to warranty work......
I was told my a co-worker that a dealership can not deny warranty work due to lack of service documentation. Mentioned a lawsuit....haven't had time to research. Don't really need to since they did perform the warranty work on my engine.
Now, I do keep ALL receipts for oil and filters.
I purchased my G's because they are RWD NISSAN's.....Had NOTHING to do with the 'Infiniti Service Experience'.... /Rant sorry....
