Who says the Sedan doesn't get any Lovin?
I dont know about all of you guys but i am dying to see the shockwave for the sedans. After hearing the sound clips on the Z guys with no rasp, i can only imagine what it will sound like for our sedans.
I know it wont sound exacly like the Z but damn.... im drooling just thinking bout it lol.
Hey tony, In the future will there ever be Exaust packages for the G's like the Z's do?

WOW! I figured most Sedan drivers would "generally" prefer it on the quieter side.
OK.
Once I get the dual tip VQ out of production it won't take long at all to do the Shockwave.

Just wanted to give you all an update as to the XYZ-pipe on the AWD's. My car is currently up on the lift and there are some fitment issues with it, when lining everything up the xyz hits the transmission, there's about 5" needed to extend off each side of the Y. The rear section is being put on currently, once thats done I'm going to go back to the shop and hopefully get some pictures, on my phone but better than nothing.
Tony - I sent you an email, if you could respond at your earliest convenience that'd be great! Tony, another email sent from my work email with the following pictures - if I don't hear back from you by 2pm EST I'll give you a call again.

Got'em!
Thank you for the pictures and doing the test fitting on the G35X. Sorry it didn't fit around the transmission.
This confirms the exhaust is not compatible with the 2007 G35X AWD Sedan.
Email replied.
Thank you!

Just to add to what Tony said, I have a 2005-2006, ProfanityPete has put the VQ system on the 03-04 version however I don't know the differences nor if he had to modify for it to fit.

Do you think the 2004 and 2007 has a different fitment for the transmission? I'm not familiar with the underside of the AWD's.
EDIT: it does fit the 03-06.

Yeah, I sent a message to ProfanityPete as I'd be interested in taking a look at the difference. I guess there must be one since it won't fit an '06 but it fits an '04. 2007's are all new body style for the sedans so thats a whole other design.
Yeah, but I don't have the XYZ pipe (Yet)
There are pics of my car in this thread, I'll dig them up and send them to you in the pm.
Tony- when you guys get the twin tip option for the VQ and get more XYZ pipes in stock, I plan to order one so I can do a test fitting on the 04X to see if it is different. I'm pretty sure the Y pipes on stock 04s are different than 05s, so it may fit.

the catback exhaust clearly fits on pete's 03-04 AWD and it should fit caly2121's 06 AWD since the transfer case is blocking the XYZ and not the exhaust. RIGHT?
From the pictures and discussions I have had with the mechanic thus far the VQ system is not fitting on my car as seen in the pictures from me earlier. This is quite possibly attributed to the y-pipes on 04's being different from 06's. If anyone knows anymore about the y-pipe differences and could add to this that would certainly help

Do you have the "HR" engine in the 2006 G35X? I believe the 2006 still uses the DE engine.
I think what it comes down to is the different transmission on the G35X with the HR engine.
I think what it comes down to is the different transmission on the G35X with the HR engine.
There's tons of confusion about that though, because I saw a thread where I think it was an 04 X had the HR y pipe on it, not the DE. Granted, I have no clue what this means, as I'm not educated on what the HR and DE engines/pipes are, but I hope this helps.
There goes my dream of a full exhaust.
Let me sum this up:
The XYZ Pipe will not fit an 2003-2006 X.
The y-pipe on the X are neither HR or a DE RWD y-pipe, they have their own design. The y-pipe design that you people see on the X looks similar to the HR y-pipe, this confuses people into thinking its an HR y-pipe. They designed it this way to clear the transfer case because the DE RWD y-pipe if you see here https://g35driver.com/forums/3449618-post1.html would never fit the X because of the transfer case would be in the way. In this thread https://g35driver.com/forums/intake-...y-exhaust.html Mustang5L5 post #7 has pictures of the DE AWD y-pipe on his 06x which is identical to mine on my 04x and looks alot similar to the HR y-pipe, if you look back at this page and to the pics on Dave's page they look nothing alike. (The DE y-pipes) In post #13 SwivelHips explains the difference in the HR y-pipe compare to the DE AWD y-pipe. The two downtubes on a DE RWD y-pipe are 5 inches and the downtubes on the HR y-pipe and DE AWD are 13 inches, i just measure mine which is sitting in my garage. The difference between an HR y-pipe and Awd y-pipe is the bends in the tubes to allow better airflow.
I can vouch for this because when i switched my DE awd y-pipe to the Hr y-pipe my car sounded louder(very noticeable, my friends were there and they agreed) and pulled a bit harder as well.
If i could only take some pictures, i just dont have the time right now and i am going away.
Oh and Profanity pete has just the midpipe and axleback and not the xyz pipe.
So with that said the XYZ pipe will not fit any first generation AWD.
