Reset airbag light and it keeps coming back. Am I screwed?
What year and how many miles on the G? The safety restraint system has a warranty of like 7 years/70K miles. I had one of my modules replaced under warranty when I was at 71K. It would have cost me $800 out of pocket if I didn't find out about the warranty. Dealer didn't even know about it

might be less if it's the clock spring (which contains an airbag sensor)
this part is located below the steering wheel's frame and can go bad. i managed to damage mine when i was changing out the steering wheel to an aftermarket one - the frame was stuck on the splines of the column
i was charged $200 for P+L to replace that.

You should be able to pay a lot less to have the dealer find out what needs replaced. Maybe then you can replace it yourself. If all the info you have is the light it leaves too much open to guess what's wrong.
Great advice. If I only ask for a diagnosis, I'll probably get a more honest answer. Thanks!

Well what is wrong with your system? I think the price depends mainly on what the issue is not what you want it to be.
Dealer said it was a module and wanted around $1900. I was glad to hear that someone can get it done for $800. So it seems the price may vary on the same problem regardless of what I want it to be.
what i noticed at EVERY dealer complete retards work there in the parts and services...most of them are so ****ing stupid they all think to solve a problem is simply to replace what ever it is as a complete system...wtf?
Yeah..thats why I'm taking your advice and going to a auto electrician and have it diagnosed. Thanks again.
