Ok, So i bought a 04 G35x over the weekend from a Nissan dealer. I have 7 months or 20,000 miles left on the original Infiniti powertrain warranty. I also got a 4 year bumper to bumper warranty from the dealer. What should i check out to see if it needs to be fixed? I want to get and keep this car in great condition. It is already super clean inside and out, and drives great so, i dont know if there would be anything wrong with it. Please help. Thanks guys.

From what I have been reading you shouldn't have anything major to worry about. The problems are with the 6-speed/rev-up equipped cars. I would be completely confident picking up an auto but that won't work for me

Rock on guys. I am from NE Ohio too. My dad is from Akron. I'm Geauga county born and raised. I don't live there anymore but that is home. The folks are still there.

Thanks 01amberfirewv for putting my mind at ease. Now, mod or not to mod, that is my new question. I can't really decide if I want to or not.

I haven't lived in Akron proper for a very long time. Lived in Cleveland for a few years, then moved to Portland, Orygun and now I'm in Michigan, but Akron is still home to me too. There's something about that city that does that to a lot of people. I've got oogles of aunts/uncles/cousins there and go back quite often. I've searched far and wide, and Luigi's is still without a doubt the best pizza I've ever had. Chicagoans and New Yorkers always think they have the best, but they think that about everything. Neither can touch Luigi's.

Puhleez, I give you maybe 2 weeks. It's not that I doubt your resolve, but there are some inexpensive, easy-to-install mods that really give a nice boost to the car. Z-Tube, filter, and spacer will run you around $300 total, and you'll gain 15-20 HP with a nice intake sound. A few hundred more and you've got an HR Y-pipe and either Coupe or Sedan (05+) midpipe that really enhance the exhaust note without being raspy or drone-y. You could easily stop at that point and have a noticeably improved ride.

Good luck, and welcome to the club. There's lots of nice people on here, and lots of useful information.

Has anything changed? After reading about the possible issues and seeing that CPO sedans are out of my range I have all but wrote off the G. I really like the car though and would love to hear that Infiniti is going to recall the engine. One of my other choices, the 330i had a sub-frame issue and BMW is now fixing that free of cost. I like that car as well but think the G35 would be more fun and a better bang for the buck
