Improving Gas Milage: Tips ?

I get pretty decent gas mileage on my G, about 350miles a full tank.
But is there any tips you guys have to get more?

Don't do any performance mods that might make you want to accelerate heavier. Or you might only get 250.

increase the average distance between the gas pedal and the floor.

You're getting good mileage already. Not much else you could do. Maybe buy a Prius

Best advice: fuggedaboutit. Not much you can do except drive like a granny, and even then you won't see great gains (nor will you have any fun!)

I live midtown toronto, your city driving isnt like toronto and im sure of it. So by my caculations if you drove in toronto it would probaly be the same.

hah yea that's why I asked, more idling then driving.

But swivel is right, green is eco-friendly and saves gas.

OP, how many miles on your car??

It you are around 100k, change your spark plugs. Also, regardless of mileage on your odo, check/change/upgrade your air filter. Drain and fill all other fluids in the car. Get a fuel system cleaning done at a service center or dealership. Switch to synthetic oil if you haven't already. If you are easy on your car try a 0W-20 oil like Eneos. Use premium gas if you don't already. Use your cruise control as much as possible.

Alot of this stuff is regular common knoweldge stuff that rings true for any make/model of vehicle. Even if you do all these things, you probably still won't see a HUGE increase in mpg. Like everybody has already said, the G wasn't made to be a super fuel efficient car and the VQ isn't a super fuel efficient engine.

Good Luck! Hope this helps! At least gas isn't as expensive now as it was last summer!

If this is all city, it is better than my 04. I get about 16+mpg in the city, so your 17.5 beats it.

But I get 20.8 mpg overall, city/highway, so that doesn't look good if you drive highway.

2004 G35x, heavy right foot.

Best highway tank = 21.4 mpg
Overall average, mostly city = 16.5 mpg.
