350z front springs

Hi everyone, i got a question, if i use 350z springs for the front and leave the back springs stock will it throw my suspension out of wack?. I hate that huge gap in the front while the back sits nice and low especially with the big woofer box i have sitting in the trunk, i dont wanna get a whole kit if i can just get the front ones, any info?

It's not ideal, but it will work with no problems. The car may or may not have some wierd at the limit handling traits though. It's hard to know until you do it.

it will work but the it may look too slanted forward imo. How much do the subs weigh down the rear?

I have that setup and its not slanted forward, its nicely even, you gain better handling as well. In the end im very satisfied the back is good sinc ei have a system in my trunk as well.

Get some coupe springs for the back...only lower the rear half an inch and will even out your gaps nicely. Or so I see from pics.

So Z springs lower the car an inch? I've heard that it can actually lower an AWD car more than a RWD car. Is it true?

Sorry if I am thread jacking but, I thaught its better than starting a new thread and we are already talking about the springs.

i havent weighed my subs but theyre pretty heavy theyre 3 12" woofers in a big box so yea.. i wouldnt mind my rear being 0.5" lower but budget is tight now so i might get the z springs now and get the coupe spring for the rear in a little while, the other option i was looking at was skunk 2 springs 100 shipped but they lower 1.3" so i assume camber would be an issue?, i want a decent drop but i'm not planning on getting a camber kit anytime soon so i dont want my tires to wear out. Whats the difference between rear Z springs and rear Gcoupe springs any1 here have z springs all around or are they only recommended for the front?.
This are the skunk2 springs i was looking at

thanks for your suggestions

That seems to be the general rule. On an AWD, Z = 1.5", Coupe = 1", Sedan Sport = .5". When I get around to doing a drop, I'm probably going with Coupe fronts and Sedan Sport rears on my X. Just something mild to shorten the tire gap a little and hopefully not require a camber kit.

if you have the OEM sport suspension you can leave your front struts since our sport package shares the same spring rate as the Z. The rear you will need to swap out your OEM shocks for Z ones. It would be easier and more cost effective to pickup a used full revised Z suspension from the marketplace or my350z.com though.

Edit: also keep in mind the rear Z springs lower the rear about 1 inch. You may be sitting too low with the added sub weight. Its your preference, take a look at the suspension section plenty of people running Z springs. Personally I would go for rear coupe springs, they will lower the rear about 1/2-3/4 inch.

What if you added the z springs to the front and did the rear upper spring mount mod to lower 1/2" in the back. Seems that might be the easiest although I don't have any experience with this mod. There's a DIY floating around u might want to check out.

Fully revised is alot stiffer in the back than his non-sport (427 spring rate).

Then he can pickup a set of unrevised Z springs if its rides too firm. They revised the rear springs for good reasons though. Lowering the car with any year Z springs will make his car ride stiffer (if using the correct shocks/struts) and ultimately handle better.

OP - I would highly recommend you look a bit further into the suspension forum for more info. Please take a look at the following thread posted by Gsedan35 who did a lot of suspension testing for the sedans:

https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-...w-updates.html

Because you have non-sport suspension on your RWD sedan - you should replace both the struts and springs to match up the rates correctly (for the Z or Z/Coupe drop). According to the above listed link - the nonsport sedan suspension will not work well for any year Z springs.

I too had the nonsport sedan suspension as well on my 2005 G. In my case I purchased a full suspension set from a 2006 G35 coupe with sport suspension (that had OEM 19s) and also revised Z springs. I paired the revised Z front springs with the sport coupe front struts and kept the sport coupe rear suspension as is to get the Z/Coupe drop I wanted.

Hope this helps.
