trunk not staying shut

Odd, worked fine on a recent 2000 mile 1 week trip. I don't drive it for 1/2 week, trunk left open in garage, and now it doesn't seem to want to latch.

Any ideas of what to look at? I've "opened" the trunk from both the switch and the remote to see if that helps, but it doesn't seem to have helped.

I guess I could take it into the local Nissan dealer to look at it. I'm 200 miles from my Infiniti dealership, and the extended warranty service. It is an 04 sedan.

Thanks,
Kevin

Not sure if the 04 has the "lock" switch in the glove box, but maybe try toggling that back in forth, possibly could be related although I highly doubt.

Otherwise just simply check the locking mechanism in the trunk. You can trigger it with a screwdriver to make sure its working properly. Check the part on the deck lid and the part in the rear of the frame.

Figured it out. There was a cable at the front of the trunk lid that had come loose. It attaches close to the emergency handle with velcro. Once I reattached it, trunk locks again.

Thanks
