Tire choice and alignment issues

Well, it's come time to replace the tires on my 03 g sedan. There are a few reasons. First, aggressive driving plays a role, and that's fine. Second, the guy before me had blizzak ws-50's on it, so snow tires weren't the best, and the third reason is what boggles me the most. The tires, all four, were most worn, by a huge margin on the very insides, as if the car is running extreme negative camber. I have the sport suspension with the 17's and have no idea why it would be like that. Anyway, it's tough to find any decent tires in 215-55-17, and I'm looking for performance tires that'll last a decent amount of time. I'd like to spend around one fifty a tire, any ideas?

Really? My 2004.5 service manual says nominal is Front = -0.08 degrees, Rear = -0.58 degrees. I never thought of that as "lots."

You can also run 225/55-17 or 235/50-17 on those wheels. There's a decent selection of tires in both sizes, better than 215/55-17. Yokohama S.drive, Goodyear Eagle GT, Kumho SPT. Right now, Tire Rack has Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on sale in 225/55 for $136. I'm running 225/55-17's on my winter setup and it's been fine.

Alright, that helps alot. Does alignment sound like the problem here? What else could be making my tires wear so heavily on the inside? Is the S drive a good performance tire? Also, how about the toyo proxes 4 or t1r?

It does sound like alignment, get it checked after you buy tires. The S.drive looks like a good tire, probably the best thing available other than the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I'm not a big fan of Toyo, although many on here are.

Every stock sedan i've seen has noticable camber. Even my rear tires lean in slightly...unless it's an illusion.

I don't have any wear issues though...yet

If the tires are not rotated on a regular basis, you will get significant tire wear on the inside. I believe Infiniti recommends every 7500 miles but don't quote me on that.

I had a set of S drives on my previous car (01 Maxima) and liked them a lot. Didn't push them hard very often, but when I did they responded well. I have the Kuhmo SPT's on my car now and they are OK. Worth the money but when I replace them I'll get something a little better.

I would look into a lifetime alignment. It costs what 1.5 alignments would cost you and you can have it done every time you have your tires rotated.
