ebay smart key? yay or nay?

so my dealer sells smart keys at over 3 times the price of an ebay smart key... the thing im wondering is the overall quality of an ebay smart key. has anyone had any experience with it? or are these not trustworthy? need personal experience.
thanks for your time.

I'm told you can get them programmed by some locksmiths. Check into that...it will save you a grip.

pretty sure you will not find a locksmith able to do this. i've researched quite a bit and found no place that can do it other than the dealership. good luck finding one that can do it for you.

I've heard of some places doing this. I haven't found one though.

Yes a locksmith can do it if they have the right equipment. I bought a intelligent key from my local locksmith (the dealer is 5 hrs away) and they programmed it for me.

You prob can do it through a non dealer but if you do make sure they have done it before. Because if they try and it doesn't work your obviously out some money which would suck.
