My trunk recently died on me,the switch on the driver side by the VDC button totally doesnt work.I tried the glovebox switch and that doesnt work either!Then i went to the dealership and the guy said its either 2 things wrong with it.Either the trunk release switch is completely dead,costing about $250 or so,or that the whole trunk system including the wiring for the trunk release is dead and he said it would cost even more for that!! something like $600!!I have to manually open the trunk from going through the rear seats and popping on the hook from inside the trunk or just not using the trunk at all.Anyone else have this happen to them? stock 04 gsedan 53Kmiles.

The wires that go into the trunk on the right hand side are broken, Pop open the trunk and the harness comes out by the right hinge, Peel back the harness cover and you will find broken wires, Should be 9 in total, Hope this helps.

 

I assume the trunk pop button on the key fob doesn't work right?

 

tried pulling it upwards manually while car is unlocked?

 

Sometimes when its cold, my trunk will not open. it will take me 10 minutes of trying to open it before it actually pops open

 

my truck gets....misaligned...when I have my subs on pretty loud.

sometimes I have to try 3-4 times to open it
