Major dealer issue

Ok I have an 03 g35 sedan with extended warrenty. i started hearing a knocking noise under the hood so i took it into the dealer and they got back to me today and said my engine is bad

So now they are telling me I need to bring in a complete service history. i have the bills for all my oil changes in the last 20k miles. and I never went 3500 miles without an oil change.

my question is can they deny me the service or do they have to honor my warrenty?

any tips as to what to say if they try to deny me would really help.

I had the same issue with my 06 5at (i started a thread in here somewhere if you search). I had to bring in my oil change receipts etc etc.. and fought the case with the dealer for a month or two. In the end my issue turned out to be piston ring failure, (my car was shooting out 5 qts. burnt oil out of my exhaust every 1000 miles - thats the entire block's worth!!!).

The end result because I fought it so hard and had every receipt and answer to every question/comment they tried to put on me, was that I got a new motor. I went from just shy of 40k miles on my motor to a brand new 0 mileage motor. This was a couple of months ago too, now I have roughly 6400 miles and haven't had an issue since.

Just bring all your service records in. Good luck.

EDIT: I was incorrect now that I look back at my info.

But anyway to the OP, provide them with receipts for your work and do not take no for an answer if they deny it. Fight it. Hopefully it doesn't go that far

they put a brand new engine from nissan in the car. It is an updated engine with a new part number. You will not get a remanufactured engine under factory warranty.

In October i got a new long block cuz i had oil pump failure. Just a slight ticking. I had all the service for the last 30k, i was a 60 but the dealership had no records of the first 30. The told me that i had the option to pay them for tear down and have it looked at. They took off the oil pan and valve cover and said it was clean so they gave me a new long block under the power train warranty for free. I now have 1500 mi on my new engine and its still got 9 mnths left on warranty

Do this. Call a local attorney and they will typically talk to you for 5-10 minutes for free (just a generalization) and explain your case.. Thank them for their time, and get a little advice from them from a legal standpoint. Then, call the dealership... and drop the lawyers name.

They will practically **** themselves and probably get right on fixing your issue.

This same thing happened to my best friend when he bought his 07 STi. oil pump failed and the motor was practically seized. Once I got involved and dropped my lawyers name, they rebuilt the motor.

Threaten to kill everyone involved and then when you bring your car in for service leave a ski mask and some gloves on the driver seat... that will show them.

I hate Infiniti dealers...or at least the only one in Salt Lake City. God, they're horrible. Acura was SOOOO much better. Loaner car, rattles, whatever, no hassle whatsoever!
