It's okay, only did it for a second and then i just slammed on the brakes to slow down and upshifted.

I def won't hold it in gear though to see if the car will automatically upshift though.

The only thing the trans seems to do automatically is downshift to 1 when i come to a stop. I think i've been in 3rd gear and come to a stop and it will hold til the last second and go to 1. Really makes it nice when i've driven in 2nd gear and come to a stop. Automatically ready to go.

It also rev-matches your downshifts which is nice. But i've heard of some of the things the early shift logic lets you do. For example, i think you can click up to 3 from a dead stop and when you drive the car will automatically shift through 2nd and 3rd and then hold in 3? On the 05/06, you can't do that. In fact, it won't even let you shift to 2nd until you pass 2000 RPM

^I don't like the early shift logic much.

It will still downshift even in "manual".

Example. Say I'm rolling 15MPG and put it in 'manual' 3rd then floor it. It will go to 2nd (maybe even 1st) then go through the gears until it's time to hit 4th and at that point it will bounce off the rev limiter.
If I tell it I want to be in third... then I want to be in third dang it!!! Only way it should downshift is if it's about to choke.

Lol yeah later models don't do that. If i'm in 3rd gear cruising and want to merge and need to floor it, it will stay in 3rd. Then i'll be thinking "hey, i should downshift here" but by the time i go to do it, i figure "well, it's too late now i gotta ride it out"

thanks for the tips ya'll.

I tried it out the other day on the HWY. man, that was fun! upshifting is easy, it's the down shifting that concerns me the most.
