This is a good idea. Just a total clean-up and detail job can do wonders.

Still has the displacement on demand right?

Yes sort of - the car has MDS stock which means that when the engine is not under heavy load, the car will shut down 4 cylinders to improve fuel economy. The SRT model doesn't have this (yet). I still have MDS active on mine but most people shut it off with the handheld tuner you need to have one you have a cam or bigger upgrades. MPGs do not matter very much after engine work like this, not to me anyway. MDS can be annoying as the exhaust tone changes once in 4-cyl mode and many complain about drone with certain exhaust systems. I don't have any drone so I left it active.

I have been thinking about selling my car and most likely will some time this summer or within the year. My car has just become too small.

If i dont move up to an 07 sedan, i'll probably go with a next step up sedan. Like a 530xi, M35x, or an A6. I have also contemplated getting an SUV such as a Saab 9-7x with the 5.3 or a GMC Envoy Denali. Something that i can use to tow with in the summer (i dont even drive my car during the week in the summer... i work/live/sleep out of our pickup truck as it can tow my trailers...)

Sorry for ranting in your thread, i just dont know what to do LOL my car has become so impractical (i am so fricken happy i didn't buy a coupe. I would be royally biting myself in the *** right about now if i did.)
5MT 05-08 Legacy GT wagon or Outback XT. Those rides are quicker than the 530xi, M35x, A6, or the 9-7X and FAR more reliable than the 530, A6, and the Trailblazer....errrr....9-7X. They also get better MPGs and most importantly, more room. Then there's the modification factor.

Lol we have a 96 Outback that i drove all winter, but i just dont think i could ever sell my G for one. I would just.... regret it. I like a little classiness to a car. Drive it fun, but then take it to dinner.

Rather get an SUV if i was gonna go that route. Then i can tow.

I wish i could just buy some beater Chevy Blazer or something. I'd solve all my problems but my dad wont let me buy one. Found a few for like 3k to...

If i could afford one of these, i dont think id ever sell the it.

To the OP- I made this mistake 2 years ago, went to a more practical 08 accord from my 06 x, reason was mostly gas mileage and I sold my self that I would be happy with the accord. WRONG- I hated it after a week, the gas savings seemed huge, but it never got what they told me eithr. so instead of gaining 8mpg I gained 4, cut my cost benefit in half! I was stuck with a weak 4 banger, and uncomfortable leather seats! For me based on 45k a year it seemed to make sense, in hind sight I was foolish. I trade the accord in January and went back to an 06 x, I got myself absolutely no where in the big picture, but it made me realize all of the feature added benefits of the G. Comfortable seat, good power, reasonable luxury and performance! In fact I had a g37 service loaner last week, I ctually prefer my 06 to it..... I know seems crazy. The new 37 just had to much frilly BS for my taste, although I have to say it was a nice ride! Just my 2 cents..... Also I consistantly get 23.5 mpg on regular gas.

Not sure if the Scubie is faster than a HR powered M35x?

^Subaru would probably take a V6 M. I drove an 08 (non HR) and the power was nothing to write home about lol.

The M56 though. That would decimate all...

I go through this feeling all the time with my 05 sedan. I've felt the same way about all of my previous cars too. Everyone goes through stages with a car, any car, like people have mentioned in this thread. Just do a mod, even just a simple cheap one, detail the car, change the oil, etc. and you'll be happy with it again.

You were me 2 years ago.

To be honest, my g is my "calmed down" car. I am 29 now but in my mid and early 20's I spent my weekends at the track or on the dyno in my mustangs. One day, it just didn't appeal to me the same way as it did before. So, I traded one in for my Infiniti and the other one now moves less than 500 miles per year.

I agree with you that mostmyounger guys are all about hp and go fast mods, butmthat changes. I have had my car for two years and still run a paper air filter. Doesn't mean I am not an enthusiast, but the drive just isn't the same as it was when I was 20.

Other than maintainencd, I put nothing into my car. I am fine with stock height and stock wheels. When I was young, guys used to tell me when you hit 30 and own a house and a wife, your car issnt as important. In a way they are right.....but you still won't see me selling it for a camry anytime soon. I still love the car. I just have no desire to mod it. I live vicariously through others here

Excuse the typos.... Damn ipads are tough to post with

HR really sped those things up. I am quite shocked by that. Nice!
