My horn sounds like its dying!

I just got home & when I locked my car I noticed the horn sounded really faint! I searched & I didnt find a definate answer. Some said check the fuse but I dont knw which fuse box to check or which fuse it is. Also could it be a lose connection? Do I need to remove the grill to check the horn(s)?

Well if you can hear it, then the fuse isn't blown.

You'll have to check the grounds to the horn otherwise more than likely they are blown and one or both need to be replaced.

Never liked the horns on these cars. They are too quiet stock. There are louder after market replacements you can look into

Thanks Mustang, do you know if the horn is by the grille or lower where I would have to take the bumper off?

If you pop the hood, look down where the hood latch is. There is a big opening, on the passenger side in front of the ac condenser, you'll see two snail shaped objects. Those are the two horns. I think 10mm bolts hold them on.

You should be able to remove them easily, but if not you can remove the grill for easier access.

To test them, you just need 12 and a ground.

Thanks again! I see that one of the wires connecting to the right horn got torn off somehow. I dont know how to do electrical work so I have to find someone to patch it up for me if possible or replace the whole plug.

I fixed it! I unplugged the eletrical connector, stripped the wire, inserted it into a new eletrical connector, plugged it back into the horn & it worked! All for grand total of .40 cents plus my time.

When my battery is about to go out or is slowing dieing, I always noticed the horn would quiet down. Sounds like that you fixed it, congrats!
