Re: THIS SUCKS!!

Not me, I've driven the viper, and its awsome, but its a beast with all that torque. Its definalty not a civil car for everyday use. I can picture myself luvin it the first 4-5 months of owning it, but after that it would get tiresome as my only car. Cars like the Viper are more for weekend driving. besides, the resale would drop like crazy if you used it for everyday use as you would rack up the miles fast.

But thats just me

Re: THIS FCUKIN SUCKS!!

I did a quick check on my fairly loaded 2004 at KBB (Edmunds and NADA didn't show any info).

Trade in was $27K, Private sale at $30K. Obviously down from the $34K I paid new 1 year ago.

If I was looking to buy now, and if I knew that the previous owner had driven my car the same way I drove it, I would pay in that range for the car.

I wouldn't pay the $33K it lists for Retail value, since that isn't enough below the new price.

infiniti.com doesn't allow me to price what the 2005 would be priced yet.

Am I missing something here, isn't the main problem here that it's a lease? I thought you always got nailed if you ended a lease before it's term?

Re: THIS SUCKS!!

iLLG35's post illustrates the fundamental rule of car ownership. If you're willing to stay with a car for the length of a lease or through 10 years of ownership, you'll enjoy a reasonable cost of ownership. If you bail out sooner, expect to pay a heavy penalty in depreciation. The G35 doesn't depreciate faster than comparable cars. In fact it holds its value remarkably well - considering it's a car.

Lease or buy? Both hold attractions. Lease it and you only pay for the depreciated cost of the car (i.e. lower monthly payments) and there are tax advantages for business use. Leasing's also great if you want new cars often. Buy the car and you'll actually pay less than leasing if you keep it for 10 years or more. Buying is great for high mileage drivers because you don't have to worry about mileage until it's time to sell - and that might be when the depreciation is slowing.

Break the rules with lease or buy and pay the consequences. High depreciation!

Sucks? Yeah, and it's a free country too! (Taxes aside.)

Re: THIS SUCKS!!

I bought a 2004 Sedan on new years day and bought it for 32,000, today I went back to the same dealership and traded it in for a 2004 Coupe....yeah I know I defected but anyhow I still owed 26,000 for the car and they low balled me for 22k but I stood my ground and got 25k for it, it did help when I told them that I was a repeat customer to the dealership and they ran a check and noticed I had bought 5 cars previously from the Barber group, they even offered me a 2004 350z for 27,000 from 32,000 once they found out about my repeat purchases.

Re: THIS SUCKS!!

Yea, well i talked tot he guy who i always work with at the dealer, who wasnt there the day i went and he said i could get low 30's for my car easily, and that the dealer was gonna make a lot of money from it and not to do it unless i was going to sell it privately, i agree!! I think i can def. get my buyout for it (29k) but i'll just wait out the 2 years and get what i want....

Re: THIS SUCKS!!

martin, you realize that your sedan is a coupe killer right : ).
having a sedan is awesome for me cause it seems that every body s getting the coupe.if you remember i was parked next to you at the pip meet on aug 14th.i had the black sedan with the red and black engine bay.i love my sedan and i know that a 19 year old kid would prefer a coupe over a sedan anyday.
good luck with your decision

Re: THIS SUCKS!!

HAHA true.... Well the guy called me up AGAIn and said the other guys didnt know what they were talking about and that this was the deal. I would need to put out 8k for new coupe and they would buyout my car, free and clear and then start my new lease with a coupe for 39 months and for like almost 500 a month though, are they making the diff. up on me there? I guess so, sounds good but for about 500 a month and 8k down that was an 03 M3 for me, Sorry!!

Re: THIS SUCKS!!

Did you get anything off the MSRP on the coupe? That's the problem when I bought my sedan I got a good price from one dealer but they low balled me on the trade. I like buying without a trade in much better

Re: THIS SUCKS!!

Yea i agree, but unfortunately i cant go into a carw ithout trading mine lol!! He said he gave me the full everything coupe (aero package, nav, tire/wheels, etc) for 36k from 38, but i dunno, something didnt seem right! I mean i know i didnt have to pay my buyout ont he car and then go ahead with another car down payment and w/e, but it seems like im making up for it in my lease and hes not trying to trick me but i will be paying the same amount over time instead of up front and saying its a great deal LOL!! Lets figure it out, it went from 7k down payment 400 a month for 36 months to 8k downpayment to 550 a month for 39 months hmm, they are def. making up for the loss!

Re: THIS SUCKS!!

Yeah I got 2,000 off the MSRP, the listed price was 38,000 with navi, spolier and body kit and 18 inch wheels. The car is fully loaded except for the Brembos as I got the 5AT version and not the MT, overall I am pleased with the price as it only changed my payments by $26 a month.
