G35 Sedan with 350z Exhaust

I have a 2003 G35 Sedan and i just recently purchased the HR-Y pipe and mid-pipe from a 2004 350z, just to make sure from other peoples viewpoints, would that fit in my G sedan ? i wanna put the HR-Y pipe and mid-pipe from the 350z into my G.

thanks.

The Y-pipe is a direct bolt on. For the midpipe you'll need to get an exhaust shop to weld on an extension to the midpipe because it will be about 6 inches or so too short. Just an FYI, the Coupe midpipe is a direct bolt on to a Sedan.

Great, just making sure I wouldn't run into any problems when I take it to the exhaust shop.

one more question ? the stock muffler from the G35 will that be a direct bolt on to the midpipe ? cause I dont have the magnaflow muffler i want to put on it so would i be able to put the stock one on it in the mean time while i get the magnaflow one? or is that gonna be a problem. thanks for the help.

^ HR y pipes are from 2007-2008 350z's (and other Infinitis, ie some AWD's and G37's), so if you did buy from a 2004 350z, you're outta luck.

Go take a look at the big HR y pipe thread in the exhaust section if you want to know the specifics.

would it make a more noticeable exhaust tone if i change the stock sedan one to the 350z y pipe ? is it worth changing ?.

DE y-pipe on left, HR y-pipe on right:

If you use that one you bought, it would make no difference as the OEM y-pipe you have on your sedan is the exact same one.
There are two HR y-pipes FS in the classifieds now, go get one of those.

You really need to read this thread:

I believe its the exact same thing you have already. Just put the midpipe on and leave the y pipe alone
You beat me

^^ You can use the Y-pipe but that's about it. Also read the link in Post 11.
