I haven't done it yet. Too hot and humid here to work in the car taking it out.

Prob this fall I'll tackle it and if I do I'll take pics and make a thread. I have a feeling a lot would be interested in 50 cent repair if they are able to solder.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I haven't noticed if mine is out or not, but I would love to know how to fix it myself if/when it does go.

Well, looks like mine isn't working either. I may try to pull it apart this weekend and see how difficult this diode is to get to. I have no idea how to solder, but it can't be that difficult...can it?

Depends on where on the board the diode is

Take some pics if you pull it out. I want to see where it is.

I also kinda wish my light would burn out totally. Right now it works 75% of the time. Makes it hard to tell if i fixed it or not if it works sometimes.

Anyone know how to take it out? Through trunk?

Will do. A few people have said you can get to it through the trunk so I'll try that first.

Well, I tried to remove the light through the trunk last night and couldn't do it. There are two screws holding it in and I could only get to one of them. The other one was hidden up underneath a piece of metal and I couldn't even see it. Looks like I'll be taking my rear seats out this weekend.

Also, my light is working intermittently. That makes me think something is loose, but hopefully replacing the one diode will fix it.

Same here really.

I'm going on Vac for two weeks..but when I get back, i plan on pulling mine out and giving it a shot.

I actually do think heat plays a roll as i notice the light works fine on cooler nights, but days are in the 90's and it doesn't work then or if it sits in the sun for a while baking.

I'll have to check and see whether or not mine works after it's been sitting outside all day. It's hit and miss when sitting in my garage.
