Random Little Question Thread
OC: It is good to see you back after the hiatus. I hope you get some love back for the car and post around a bit more. You always had some of the most original ideas and appreciated the little things.
whats OC mean, Obsesive Compulsive? lol jk
you guys have no humor man...
^^^ yeah, I'll have to remember to compare to others... from what's in this thread and now that I remember looking into it years ago, I think the lean is normal for my year/base model...
It doesn't affect comfort - just looks odd... uncommon headrest mod is a unique idea though - small, incidental/subliminal things are actually more intriguing to me than in your face stuff... I look forward to what you come up with
BTW, painted?... are you doing a color change?

If you ever come up this way Levon, there is a guy out here that does amazing PDR work. He's done a lot of G's before, including mine. He really is a master at the craft

I'm looking to get either 18's or 19's and some khumos or something but my question is how does the tpms go into the new ones? Like if i take my stock rims off does the tpms not work with the new ones? A friend had told me that if i'm searching for rims on a site for the G35 they should come with the sensors but idk and would like to be sure. Also i want to get a little bit wider than stock rims/tires in the back right? if so what would you suggest so nothing rubs? My car isn't dropped...yet.
Thanks,
Matt

What would you say are reasonable cost expectations for the following services:
1. Install lowering springs all around, rear shocks, and rear sway.
I was hoping to have it done for $300-400. 1st shop, a customs place, said 8-9 hours!! and well over $800, after I talked him down a bit. 2nd shop, an alignment/general shop estimated $500 (and again his computer was telling him 2 hours for each front strut on a 2004x).
2. Paint/install kurookie (FG) front and Stillen (poly) rear. Maybe re-spray the whole rear bumper as it came a little scuffed by the previous owner.

For #1. I would say no more than $300, probably even less.
For #2, maybe $500 or less? Really depends on the paint shop. I know of some that would charge me $400 for my IP bumper, and I know one (that I'll be going to) that is doing it for $300-350 including filling in the sidemarkers and install fog lights (adding whatever brackets are necessary). That's for IP as well. Shop and quality really make a difference too. I trust the shop I'm going to, the guy just hooks it up so he can get repeat business.

$325-350+. You will also need an alignment and depending on how low you are going, may also need camber kits.
Depends on the shop. Anywhere from 250-600+ for each bumper. If you go to a shop that is used to high end clientele, you'll get high end prices and might just get a better paintjob as well. It's all in the prep.
Test pipes are straight pipes, resonated just has a resonator to reduce some rasp and some loudness. High flow cats are still cats, so they're more restrictive so not as much power gains. However they can be CARB legal, depending on the ones you go with. Test pipes will not be CARB legal.
no CARB restriction down here..
so i came across, what i think to be, a good deal for the Megan OE-RS and resonated test pipes brand new shipped for $499.99.. so i just wanted to see if the test pipes were worth it..
