Random Little Question Thread
#5641
might sound like a dumb question, i'm switching from oem nonsport brakes to akebonos, and i'm trying to order SS brake lines, but there are the options of brembo or non brembo. i know i'm not going to a brembo kit, but it is still a larger kit, and i'm not sure if there really is a difference between the two kits.

uhh...
idk, I have very little knowledge with wheels. I kinda understand the point of wheel widths and offsets but I dont even know the G coupes "tolerance"(for lack of better words) when it comes to widths...
I guess my revised question is, at what point do you have to roll your fenders, and why?
and what widths would i need? I know my OEM 17s are 8.5 rear and 8 front, would I need spacers at all? from what I have read i see +33 a lot, i guess thats the offset but why offset wheels? looks? performance? I really wanna learn this stuff but its confusing lol

haha yeah I was right there with you a couple years ago, still dont know too much but... Most guys have +33 because they run the stock 19's from the coupes and it's a great offset for our sedans (im about to go pick mine up from the shop, getting my 19's mounted and balanced). As for rolling fenders, you would only need the rears done but its really hard to say without knowing specs. Your OEMs are 8.5 rear 8 front, same as the 19 Rays, but the offsets on the Rays are why they "stick out" more, flush with the fender. Some people will say its for performance, but its really about stance/looks. Just try to get the specs and then come in here and ask, someone will be able to tell you about the roll.

You have to take the light housing out completely. There's a power wire that you can unplug in the back. Once you have the housing off, you'll see there's a single screw that's holding the cover in place. Unscrew it and you can pry the cover off.
