I'm just curious why on earth they would do that in the first place? I know they changed it after '04 but damn that's kinda annoying. I cant even listen to my engine roar without the fan making a lot of noise too.
I know these are old posts but this is really good information to know for those who have belt driven fans.

"Most cars that have an engine-driven cooling fan have a thermostatically controlled viscous clutch -- the temperature of the fluid actually drives the clutch. This clutch is positioned at the hub of the fan, in the airflow coming through the radiator. This type of clutch is a lot like the viscous coupling sometimes found in all-wheel drive cars. The fluid in the clutch gets thicker as it heats up, causing the fan to spin faster to catch up with the engine rotation. When the car is cold, the fluid in the clutch remains cold and the fan spins slowly, allowing the engine to quickly warm up to its proper operating temperature."

This would explain why my fan is louder at times.

Anyone with a G35x here?? Have you guys changed your front hub assembly? Where did you guys order it from? And how much did you guys pay? It should be the same for 2003-2006 I think. I have a 2005 g35x. I work at PartSource but I can't order it anywhere lolz. I found them at ebay for $200 plus $90 for shipping each. And I want to replace both sides. I just want to know if that's the oy option I have.

Thanks in advance.

Alright so how come every G I've seen has a dull passenger side headlight. I know they yellow I've been fighting it constantly and plan on new lights and lenses, but for real every G I've seen the passenger side lens is way worse ten the driver. This can't be coincidence.

So my driver's side HID low beam went out tonight....had gone out months ago but just for a little while, but seems like it might have died for good this time...what would you guys recommend? Buying the replacement kit from Diode Dynamics maybe? Is there a good way to diagnose exactly which part is broken? Thanks

plastic is preferable. absorbs less heat, gives you a slightly lower IAT. Alum is shiny and a lot of people like shiny. depends on whether you want show or go.

Question About Aftermarket Headlights

I'm thinking of getting these headlights for my o3 sedan: eBay Headlights but I have Xenon HID's and I'm not sure if these will fit them. At the bottom it says non Xenon sedans, but when I looked for a xenon equivalent, they offer the same housing but with an HID kit. I would rather not swap out my OEM HID's for some eBay kit I've never heard of, so my questions is, would these work with my Xenon's and are housings dependent on the type of bulb or is that JUST the ballast's?

^Probably, it will also change the tone of the exhaust slightly.
