Toretto = Chris...that's the chris I was talking too. I didn't even see your screename......but to answer your question. If you know you want it black, I'd just paint it black vs wrapping it. Will look a lot cleaner IMO

I did punch it, but it punched back.

The cheater bar I attached onto the spanner wrench slipped and I clubbed myself like an idiot right in the jaw.

Needless to say, that made me even angrier at these coilovers. The only good that came this week is my akebono calipers came in but i'm too busy trying to unseize these coils to install them.

Letting the PB soak overnight on day 2. If it doesn't free up, I'm getting a torch.

also about where it adjusts, the spring bucket (or toe arm once replaced) sits towards the rear side of the tire, so I assume thats the side that either goes in or out, and the front of the tire stays fixed (or somewhat fixed, but still suffers minor changes)

my issue now is the front of the tire rubs fender, and rear of the tire has clearance, so ofcourse i prefer to bring the front of the tire in, rather than bring the rear of the tire out to match the front. so i can avoid rubbing altogether.
That was with a custom toe arm. Regular toe arm wasn't long enough to get camber in spec so I opted for a longer one which allowed me to get the toe in spec and in my case, 0.

Although in the rear, it still will affect the front. What diameter are the wheels? That and tire size will make a huge difference. 20's make it a pain in the *** clearance wise. If I had 19s or 18's I wouldn't have had so many problems trying to get the rears to clear. Never got the tire to fully clear. When I had the 20x11 -12 I was pushing it. I threw on an 18x-12 -7 and had room to go even more aggressive, probably 10mm more.

The rear being good and the front rubbing seems like the toe is still pointing outward. Gonna have to bring it in some more and that may cause the rear of the tire to rub.

they're stuck bad. gonna take them to a shop because i don't want to risk taking a torch to it and having it blow up in my face.

I'd rather let someone else have the pleasure of experiencing that.

So I'm planning on buying a HID Low beam kit from Diode dynamics to replace my broken driver side HID. I figure might as well replace both 10 year old ballast/bulbs while I'm at it (unless you guys suggest otherwise?). Thanks dofu and DVG for the bulb/ballast tips though I also want to buy their HID fog light kit. Few questions:

1. While not optimal, would you guys advice against the Precision Slim Digital ballast? Upgrade to their Hylux ballast? Avoid both ballasts?

2. What temperature would you guys suggest? I'm thinking 6k for the lows and either 8k or 3k for the fogs. My headlights are stock with the chrome housing. Leaning toward 8k for the fogs.

3. Would you guys recommend getting the HID relay for either the low or fogs?

Thanks

Thanks, really opens up my options. The thing is I've looked into the DIY's here and even though they are very clear on instructions, there is still a lot of room for error. I don't really feel comfortable doing something like that considering the amount of time it will take and if you mess up, the car will be undrivable.

The reason I considered the Ebay projectors was because it's a simple plug and play which is what I'm looking for. If there was a "real" projector kit out there that was plug and play I would definitely buy it.

^ If you can live with how ugly they are, ebay projector headlights can be fine for HIDs if you change out the lenses for lenses from xenon projectors.

Yea good point. I might buy them and make slight modifications to them so it doesn't look as bad. I'm slowly trying to convince my buddy that we should do a retrofit on both our cars as it will be a fun project when we both have a day off.

Anyway what do you think of these: http://turbometal.com/infiniti-g35-s...hts-black.html

I know they're over priced but are these just as bad as the ebay projector headlights??

I've read that the stillen Z tube sucks and is made from a cheap material. I've seen pictures of some minor defects on the inside of the tube and roughness which might affect air flow. Some members on here say they would rather put out the extra money to get a flawless oem Z tube.

I've considered getting the stillen Z tube since it's so much cheaper but after reading and seeing those pics I'm convinced I'll get the oem instead. Hope this helps.

Whats up guys, I have a quick question, i had this really loud whining noise coming from the engine and I cannot figure out what it was and now my car won't start and when I did jump it I let stand for a bit and it dies. My guess It's going to be the alternator but dk. Anyone had this happen to them???
