Any slammed guys here run with their splash shield off? Mine is hanging off from the back and is scraping every small imperfection in the road, looks like a few of the mounting holes are torn. I'm gonna try and duct tape it or something but cannot afford a new one after getting my lower control arms replaced..

I don't care about the comfort part tho, so max psi is more safe and gives better mpg. Unless yer in situations where traction may be an issue, then I'd lower it. My ride comfort is fine, but I guess my tires are wearing odd or its just what they do when they get older because the road chatter is getting pretty insane lately especially for highway driving, certainly not quiet at all and if on the bluetooth phone the caller can hear the noise clearly (pretty sure thats the source of the noise for them). Perhaps running a bit more PSI will help the sound a bit, worth a try at least when I go to top it off. I believe I have Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105 tires, although I swear mine were W speed rating and not the H it claims the stock 17s would be (18s show W). Either way I might have to try a different tire when I go and make my purchase, I doubt the price will be friendly for a W rating (168mph) that I wont use anyway.
*edit* maybe the source is bad other sites show W, V, its all over the place, I'll have to see my tires in person again to check its rating

Yeah, imagine an under inflated basketball. It takes more energy to bounce, to roll the same distance, etc. cuz the less taught your material, the more energy it absorbs. The more you inflate them the more they can deflect. Same concept with tires. Absolutely nothing wrong with running full sidewall psi.Originally Posted by MrTBahgs

I wouldn't worry about the speed ratings. Anything sold for our cars, you'll most likely never come close to the speed rating.

I apologize if I am being a so called "Noob", but I am new to this forum thing, and also my car. I just purchased a 2005 G35 Coupe and had just a few questions as I have never worked on or owned these cars. I was warned of the window problem and have experienced it now, twice in the past two weeks. Does anyone have a solution? The second question I wanted to get out there was specs on the amount of boost the stock internals can handle? I have heard that many of the internals are forged, but am curious as to more power options. Is there a supercharger that anybody knows of? I have seen pro-chargers and twin turbos... Thanks

Search is a beautiful thing. most people use Vortech superchargers, but there are a few other brands. general consensus is that the stock engine is good for about 400hp. and you should be asking coupe guys about your windows, as you are currently in sedan land.

I have a small issue that recently came up.
The Odometer light that displays the Total mileage and Trip Meter went out yesterday. I can barely see it in the daytime, and can kinda see it at night. This is with the dash lights on max setting. Not a big deal because I can still read it, but a minor annoyance if you know what I mean.
Anyone have this issue? Btw I have a 05 Coupe 6MT with 117K miles if it matters.
