Not sure of the actual name either. It is the intake duct that draws in air to the engine. Theoretically, it will supply cooler air when installed as it pulls air from the outer grill area rather than the engine compartment when removed/missing.

Curious if anyone has bought one of these super low price cabin air filters before such as:

http://www.jcwhitney.com/replacement...088y2006g106j1

I just did a basic google search and there are quite a few under $13.00 and some like the one linked that claim to be the carbon filters as well.

To me its one of those, too good to be true type pricing and I just went with a local filter with the arm and hammer additive for $16 where I know it fits and isnt like bent to hell etc., but it'd be good to know if any of the fairly cheap filters especially carbon ones are actually a good buy and I will remember that for next time.

Not 100% if its true for 04, but I know the X's have an extra air intake slot in the front bumper right under the license plate bracket.

Also i believe one of the letters in the VIN will suggest AWD or not.

There's no snow button unless it's AWD. Look under the car, you'll see the half shafts running to the front hubs.

I am in need of help! I need to replace my clutch and the shop is telling me that it would be $2000 to replace with all the parts plus labor. That seems really pricey. I have a sedan 03. What do I do?!

That seems high IMO. I would take it to another shop for a second opinion

Do you have the tools to drop and replace parts of the transmission?

Hey guys, I have an RAS fuse in my fuse box. What's stands out in the rear suspension that makes it obvious if I have Rear Active Steer?

That was what I was thinking but then I would have to call a tow truck again.

I don't. Do you think it would be cheaper to buy the parts myself and just pay for labor?
