Just do a drain and fill, drive 100mi, drain and fill, drive 100mi, drain and fill and you're done.
is there a reason as to why tranny flushes are bad?

And what kind of transmission fluid do you recommend?

So yeah, to blast through your paper-thin defense, this thread was designed for exactly what Austin just used it for.
I don't care if you have said useful stuff in the past, that last post was just useless, and really didn't help Austin at all.
So why did you feel the need to act like a jerk to him and add a useless post at the same time? Are you trying to get the thread locked again? Trolling for attention? Venting some kind of frustration by just generally being difficult with every single post?

Whatever it is that you're doing, do it somewhere else.

First of all, I'm by no means a AT specialist. I'm just going off what I was told by people who are, combined with lots of bad experiences from those who have had them done.

Basically, what I was told by an expert was something to the effect of:
'Transmissions are designed and built to circulate fluid a certain way. Anytime you circulate fluid through them differently, either with higher pressure or reverse flow, you risk doing a lot of damage, or siring crap up into the transmission.'

The way his shop did a "flush" was to disconnect the transmission lines, and let the transmission draw in fresh fluid from the "in" line, and discard old fluid through the "out" line using it's own internal pumping mechanism.

As for fluid type? Use what Nissan/Infiniti recommends.

^ Yep Thats exactly how any good machine or shop would do a flush is have the pump circulate the new fluid.

though when we talk about the machine I think the machine pumps the new fluid in at the same Pressure coming out of the return line.
