^ Yea its not worth going through infiniti, many people on here have fixed it them selfs for 50-100 bucks. But its a PITA, you have to go from under the light, from your trunk.

Mine is def humidity related.

Been raining past three days....humidity has been 80-100%.

Today, humid in am and then front came through and dried everything up. Says it's 40% humidity now. I leave work after it dried out and said "I bet the light works now" and sure as he'll I hit the brake and see the third brake light working fine. Worked all the way home and still on after an hour in traffic sitting on the brakes.

So somewhere between 40-80% is where the light doesn't work.

Who has the cheapest price on a replacement light? I just want to replace it, and keep my receipt in case anything happens. I hate not having that light working.

I got mine from this dealership in Jersey. Actually drove out there over the summer from PA.
It was about an hour and a half away. Roadtrip! lol

It was kinda worth it cause its the right part. I ordered from a warehouse at first and the part they sent me only had 2 leds!! I had to send it back. This one matches the old one pretty well though.
I just hope it doesn't die after 7 years

^ you paid 180 bucks for the OEM one?!@

It probably will go bad which is why I suggest not to buy that at all.

Edit: Seems thats the coupe's rear brake light, does that work in the sedans? I still would not pay 2x the price. People can find the led strip for 50-100 bucks.

hmm, I think ill rig some tin foil on the corner of the light so I can tell during the day through my rear view that its working, maybe its not working at all during the day when I cant tell lol!.

The price quote I gave was only for LABOR of putting in a whole new rear shelf, not the part. A whole new rear shelf for $250.

I suppose it'll last at least as long as the original did which was about 7 years so I won't have to worry about it for a while. That's why I didn't mind getting the OEM part.

Also I did have to buy the coupe's but it is the same part. Cables go the right way and everything.

I know it's a lot to pay but I just wanted it fixed and I wanted to be able to have my friends use my rear seats since I had the rear shelf out for weeks before I finally gave in.

+1

I first noticed it when I was in a parking lot and the car behind me had a reflection of my car with my brake lights on. I thought I was missing 1 LED on my 3rd brake light. It ruined my whole day. Later that day I asked my GF to test out the brake light and everything checked out alright. When I got home later that night I noticed my 3rd brake light didn't even light up on my rear window and was really ticked off. Came on here and read it was a common problem. Been trying to get a replacement with no luck. Only got 2 options now; complain to Infiniti and/or replace it with aftermarket LED Strip.

This really does suck! I'm calling tomorrow!

Edit: Just filed online and still calling tomorrow!

I'm making a thread with a slightly more focused title and first post, so that we can get as much attention as possible to this issue: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...yours-out.html
