Are there any sound clips of the 06 rev up air box on our sedans? I was thinking about getting one and people say it's worth it. But has anyone gotten any dynos on their cars to see the hp difference? Or made clips for the sound difference?

No real sound difference. Maybe a little more noise during rev's, but thats about it. For $50, its worth it.

Here's what my G sounds like from the inside with the Rev Up airbox, paper filter, OEM G-tube with the resonators removed, HR Y-pipe, and 05/06 sedan midpipe.

Why is it worth $50 if there's no sound difference?

Thanks that helps a bit. I was thinking about going for the coupe midpipe. The changes are very subtle aren't they...

I just installed my Rev-up box today on my 06 5At sedan, and I do feel a very slight/minimal change. The tone gets a slightly deeper, and throttle response increased a small bit for me, I didn't dyno because, well there's no point. I'm trying to do something similar to what DaveB is doing, which is how I feel the car should have come from the factory.

Has anyone seen what the 2nd gen air box looks like? Any idea if they have the longer horn like the revup air box?

because intakes dont do anything for our cars. and the revup intake already allows more air than the engine takes in so for 50 bucks its a cheap mod.

2nd gen airboxes are substantially smaller than ours, but I don't have a clue about the size of the horn.

My car didn't start sounding cool until the stillen intake was installed. I would suggest going for an aftermarket airbox-type intake, the "gurgle" sound is more noticeable.

Most aftermarket intakes do not have a good air box around the intake. Stillen is one of the few to have a good box. The OEM Rev up air box has a veolcity stack in it which is what usually makes an aftermarket intake better than most OEM set ups. However, since the rev up air box has a velocity stack and prevents the intake from taking in hot air from the engine bay.

cheaper price, same results (performance) = better deal.

I removed the Power Duct and resealed the surrounding with aircraft certified close-cell foam from my work. The sound is definitely better with deeper tone. Then I replaced the box with the RevUp one. It has a very slightly deeper change in the lower mid rpm range. Plus if you get the K&N, it gives you the "swush" sound when the gas is let off. I had the JWT before but I preferred my current OEM set up (w/ Z-tube) better. Not only the engine sucks in cooler air and you don't lose the low end torque like most of the short arm cone filter intake.

As an alternative, I found someone selling a broken rev up box (Z in this case) and just swapped the velocity stacks.
