Manifold rusted?

I'm not sure which part of the exhaust it is, could some one id it please?

looks like it rusted through or may just a cover

pass side rusted too but not as much,,,,

should i be worried?

That is the catalytic converter. It shouldnt be a problem unless the rust eats a hole through the pipe.

^ +1 most cars in the midwest look like that. At one point that cover/shield will break apart and fall off or stay on and rattle. I normally pull them off when its gets that bad.

Purely cosmetic nothing hurting performance, unless of course there is a hole or leak.

It won't matter... the cat itself is more rusted than the cover.

i would say there is a good chance it will last the next 5 years w/o a problem.

That happened to me on the Highway back from St. Louis, anybody have concerns about this missing heat shield?

My heat shields have been long gone. I think I pulled them off 2 years ago after the rattles drove me crazy. No negative effects.....just don't park over grass or leaves during a drought.

me too. I had my cat and y-pipe heat shields taken off in december when my magnaflow exhaust went on and no ill effects.
