Is there a 2005 G35x front brake rotor recall?
FWIW The brakes on the '05G35x look to be the same as the brakes on my wife's '05 Maxima. They take the same pads and the disks are the same size. With 73K miles on the car I'm putting the third set of rotors on the front this weekend. I replaced the stock rotors with Centric that worked fine until now. I'm installing Raybestos' top of the line rotors. The others seemed to have warped around 35-36K miles each.
I am in Canada (Mississauga) and got the letter end of Aug 2011.
My letter was almost the same, except up here, the max payout is $275.
I had my dealer repair invoice and the Infiniti letter in hand and went to 401 Dixie Infiniti, where they promptly refused to honour or even acknowledge the claim. The service manager even refused to call Infiniti head office to verify the letter.
Luckily for me I am familiar with Nissan Canada head office which is a 5 minute drive from there. I went there, talked with 2 guys, one of which wrote the letter. They shook their heads as to why the dealer refused. They contacted the dealer and had my cheque processed.
This dealer has always been very cheap, and did not surprise me.
The moment my warranty ran out, and they did not help me with a suspension issue, I stopped giving them my business.
At Nissan head office Mississauga, it is very easy to visit and talk to a representative.
