hello fellow g35'ers
i'm new to the site and just got myself a g35 2003 sedan
like the head line says I'm in the market for springs and can't decide between the tanabe df210 springs that lowers the front 1.7 and 1.3 in the rear, and the tein htech front 2.0 and 1.5 in the rear.
i'm looking to keep the stock 17's for now and was wondering if any one has gone this route, any positive or negative feedback
also i was going to probably use the stock shocks till they are blown, (probably no the best idea but i'm ballin on a budget)
just wondering what people have thought of these two products

I have 350z Tein H. Tech which is a higher spring rate than the g35 version. I like the setup, but Im saving for some coils now.

I think you listed the specs for the Tein S Techs. The H Techs don't drop that much and I've had both. I ran the H Techs with stock sport shocks, the S Techs with 350Z struts, and now I'm on coils. I will second the motion to go coils from the get go as there is no comparison in ride quality, handling, and the ability to adjust height and dampening.
If money's an issue, find a complete revised Z suspension used for under $150, slap it on, and start saving for the coils. michael above is absolutely correct, once you start to go low it's all over.
I wish I would have listened to that advice from day one instead of going through 4 different suspension set ups in a year and a half.

If I wasn't looking to sell my '03 G35 6MT sedan, coilovers would have been my next mod.

yea coils would be **** but i'm still in the market for these two and i dont plan to swap for other springs, revised z springs are plenty affordable but the drop is not what i'm looking for.
had a buddy run tein springs on a entirely different sedan and his drop looks proper not much gap and rides smooth on stock shocks.
seems like i can't find a happy tanabe df210 customer
i've heard that tein 's tend to sag after time and the rear is usually lower than the front in most applications

I had Tanabe NF210's (coupe) on my sedan and they dumped the back of my car. It was supposed to be 1.5F and 1.1R, but It was nowhere near that. I sold them to a friend and he put them on his Z and dropped it about an 1" or little more. Not sure how that worked. OddOriginally Posted by sdatom

On a side note, I started with Z springs, then went to G/Z, then to the Tanabe, and now on coilovers. I was happy with the subtle G/Z and had no intentions of changing them......but I couldnt be happier now. Well worth the cost, ESP if you need new shocks.
do you think since they were for a coupe they were even lower then they were supposed to be.
i was also thinking of the nf210 how was the look (gap wise) and quality of ride with your original nf210 setup, and was it on stock shocks?

They were supposed to be .5" lower on a sedan than on a coupe. The listed drop was 1" front and .6" rear.
Here is a pic of my car with those springs with a spacer I made for the rear (3/8th I believe). Those are my old wheels with 275/35R and 245/35F.

I had Tokico HP's. The ride was better with the NF210's than with the OEM Z springs, but not as good as the coilovers I have now. I had the same Tokico shocks with the OEM G/Z, Z, and Tanable springs.

Here's a pic of me dropped on sedan S techs. I was also running z struts/shocks and the ride was a little harsh and stiff, but the drop looked good and even. Can't comment on the sagging, I didn't have them on long enough to find out.

i got h techs wit 20s and i love it not to low, but i wanted it to still ride good, coilovers ftw all the way if u wanna handle and have all the adjustments but i just wanted summin to lower the car a lil and just riddddde, hope this helps

I have DF210s on my sedan with Tokico Blue 350z shocks. Rides as smooth as stock and without much body roll. Had this setup for 9 months, no complaints.
