Growling Sound at 4k
Growling Sound at 4k
Hey All, just picked up a 04 G35 sedan AT with 76k early last week.
i noticed a weird grinding/Growl under acceleration when in any gear between 3800 rpm and 4500 rpm. doesn't happen when not in gear
sometimes it goes away and there's a clean engine sound. but most time it's like a slight grinding vibration and like a loose or metal to metal loud sound.
i thought it might be an engine mount but the engine doens't seem to be moving around.
anyone experiance this?
i think i may have a diff or bearing rolling rummbing noise from the front/rear too
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

does the car shake when your driving at high speed or when you
press on the brake? just replaced my lower front control arms
and it fixed the shaking maybe something is loose in the exhaust?

Lol vtek,
No. Its pretty smooth and stable at any speed. It only growls / grinds at around 4k rpm when in any gear. Even first gear. So like even at 30mph.
Maybe exhaust. Ill look under to see if anything is rattling. Thnks
Oh rumbling was left rear bearing. The grinding sound, I donno
