Proud new owner of a G35 sedan, but have some concerns and issues with the car!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking this forum for a few years, but I've never actually owned a G35. I bought a beautiful 2005 G35 Sedan a few weeks ago. It's black exterior with black interior (took me a while to find one in this combination) and currently has 61k miles. It also has that cool (imo) keyless start system (didn't even know that when I bought the car since the owner didn't mention it). I actually bought the car in Florida a little less then 2 weeks ago and the car finally just arrived to my home a few days ago.

It arrived in flawless condition to my surprise and still smells brand new too.

I've been driving it for only 2 days and just about an hour ago, as I pull up to my driveway, the car shut down on me. I restarted the car and it started up, but it was hesitating to start so it didn't fire up right away. As I start the car, I get the following malfunctions: Slip, vdc off, and service engine soon. Any one know what the issue might be? I don't notice anything different in the car (i.e., no shaking or misfiring, etc..), but the only noticeable difference is the car hesitates to start up right away. Any help will be appreciated!

Edit: All the lights could also mean your brake fluid is low or the pads. It might be 2 issues on hand but try to pull codes at autozone for free and report back.

Awesome, thank you! Will run the codes tonight. Hopefully it's the cps and nothing major!

I got all those lights, changed the cam position sensor and everything was fine. 50 or 60 bucks

Update: didn't get a chance to run the codes yet, but just went to start car and it started up right away and the vdc and slip malfunctions are not present for now but the service engine soon light still is.

I also own a MB clk430 and I remember when the cps went out, the car always started when it was cold and barely started when it was warmed up. I'm assuming the same thing goes in this instance?

Thanks! It's a used car, so I expect there to be trouble here and there.

Bay Area.

Get the codes read at an Autozone or other parts store and let us know what came up. That'll help pinpoint your issue.

Get the code read first. Don't erase it or buy parts until you do. No point guessing either

Had the same issues as you. It would usually start and run when it was colder, but when it got warmer the car was hard to start and shut down a lot on me. I finally replaced the CPS and NO more problems.
