Hello everybody - The SES light came on yesterday. I have a 2004 G35x Sedan with 105,000 miles. I have not done a tune up yet. Do you think a tune up will resolve the SES light issue? Has anybody else experienced this problem? Thank you all for your help!!

The p0011 code is for a camshaft position sensor.
The p0300 is a random multiple misfire.

Fixing the camshaft position sensor will most likely get rid of both of these codes.

Doing your plugs and fluids would not hurt as well since you are around that service interval.

the p0011 code is not for the camshaft position sensor,the p0011 is for your intake valve timing solenoid which is the solenoid with the green connector at the front of each valve cover. This code is normally due to low oil due to the solenoids run off of oil pressure. if the oil level is full then you need to replace the solenoid for whichever bank the p0011 is for. The multi cylinder misfire code can be caused from a dirty mass air flow sensor or something touching the hotwire inside the sensor(a hair or piece of a leaf,etc) Hope this helps

Infinitidude, i will attemp to replace the solenoid withthe green connector. I think I saw a post how to do that. You don't think it could be the camshaft sensor like Songle6mt mentioned? Any tips that would help?

It's likely to be the solenoid and a dirty MAF. I'd take care of those first, just be very careful cleaning the MAF, it's pretty sensitive.

The bank 1 cam position sensor will be a p0340 code and the bank 2 cam sensor is going to be a
p0345 code and it will cause a hard start issue taking a long time to crank if one of these sensors are going bad.

I had been having the p0011 and had been missinformed on it being the camshaft sensor well after taking it to a local Nissan/Toyota mechanic shop they informed me it was the VTC solenoid so I went ahead and ordered it from Grubs. After picking up the today from the shop the light came back on so headed back to the shop hooked it to the compute and the p0011 code came back up plus p0300

i got this light when my fan belt broke and it threw 3 different lights including this one and it was the camshaft sensor.. it was the one behind the engine on the passenger side of the car.. a pain in the *** to change but its worth it, unless you wanna pay to get it done. fixed the problem for me, i would start by changing it its only like 50 bucks at autozone.
