Ok, here comes my list of previous cars, which is a little bit different
Mazda:
85 RX-7 GSL-SE (13b in it made it fun!)
88 RX-7 SE
84 RX-7 (converted to 13b for autox, no accessories, fast!)
91 RX-7 T2
...
03.5 G35 sedan
How's that?

Not too many cars that aren't represented on somebody's list. It's amazing to see how different everybody's list is, yet we all ended up at the same place. Just goes to show how universally good the G35 is. Well, here's my list in chronolocical order of ownership:

1984 Plymouth Voyager - 2.2L 5 speed (very rare, very slow)
1980 Ford Escort - complete POS
1983 Cadilac El Dorado - unique V8 FWD for the time
1986 Olds Toronado - love that GM 3.8L V6
1986 GMC S-15 Jimmy - Loved that truck
1988 Toyota MR-2 - Loved that little car
2001 Dodge Neon ACR (American Club Racer) - handled like on rails, great sleeper
2002 Nissan Maxima SE 6 speed - and so the bug was caught
2003 Porsche Boxster - nothing needs to be said
2003 Mercedes E500 - fast, luxurious, expensive as Hell!!
2005 G35 6mt - best blend of the previous 3 cars

Now this list doesn't include cars I bought for my wife, her list is (since we've been married):

1997 Toyota Camry
2002 VW Jetta 1.8L Turbo
2004 VW Touareg V6

Here's mine, I'm 32.

'76 - 280Z
'81 - 280Z
'85 - 300Z
'93 - Eagle Talon ESI
'95 - Eagle Talon TSI
'97 - Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 5.2
'98 - BMW 328is
'01 - BMW 330ci
'00 - Audi S4 tip
'98 - Acura TL (decided to try and save $$)
'04 - G35 coupe
'05 - G35X

I liked them all. The TL was most boring.

68 Chevy Impala
69 cobra mustang 428 v8
71 olds 442 w30 and still got it
74 Javelin 304 V8
74 Monte Carlo
77 Monte Carlo
81 Build Regal
83 Cutless Supreme
86 Shelby daytona Z
91 Camry V6
96 Maxima
99 TL
01 CL S
05 G35

The most reliable was the camry. The G is fun.. but when I want to turn heads I get in my w30 442. The G is more refined and more fun to drive in some respects. But the monster torque of the w30 442 and the rumble of the v8 is something I could never part with since 1973.

Drool, ever since I was a kid I wanted one of these, or a 70 Challenger with a real 426 Hemi.

Hmmm, fun thread here! Lemme see.....

I am 37, off and on a car guy through the years...

1. '65 Mustang - Hilt-built, Turned a 13.6 quarter in H.S Drags - loved the car, hard to keep it runnin tho.
2. '78 ? Toyota Tercel - Dad hated my Mustang, sold it, forced to drive this as a 17 yr old....sucked bad at first, grew on me later tho.
3. '81 Toyota Celica GT. Tenth anniversay edition - sweet car top to bottom - Loved it!
4. '79 Toyota Tercel - Gave Celica to my new wife, and bought myself crap Tercel becaouse I knew the dependability and amazing use in snow.
5. '87 Chev Cavalier - Absolutely the WORST POS in automotive history. Miserable experience.
6. '89 GMC Sierra PU - Good truck
7. '85 Jeep Cherokee Chief - Plain jane, but dependable.
8. '91 Mazda B2600 PU - Wife loved it! Wrecked and repaired, never the same..
9. '92 Jeep Cherokee Ltd. - Nice nice nice rig. Tranny blew out at 75k miles.
10. '94 Iscrewyou (Isuzu) Rodeo - Decent ride, but constant niggling problems.
11. '94 Chevrolet 2500 4X4 PU - wifes truck, loved it.
12. '93 Nissan Maxima - During the "4 door sports car" era. Wonderful car, loved it, revived the "car guy" in me. Had computer issues tho.
13. '92 Eagle Talon - Cool looks, handled as if on rails, great top end speed. Horrible low end speed, uncomfortable for all except driver.
14. '99 Ford Expedition - Wife car, loved it, I thought it way too frickin big. We only have the one Daughter after all.
15. '96 Ford Taurus SHO - Faster than most think, questionable reliability.
16. '99 Subaru Impreza Outback - Quick, lotsa torque, never any trouble, daughter is now driving it.
17. '03 Jeep Liberty - Fun lil SUV
18. '03 Jaguar X-type - Originally mine, wife drives it now. Best car I have ever owned.
19. '05 Infiniti G35x - Currently enjoying the love affair. Never happier to drive either my wife's or my car... both are GREAT rides. The G is crazy fast, the Jag is sneaky fast!

Dang! I have had a few cars and pretty well run the gamut of types too!

-G

Thumbs up

1984 Celica Supra (Purchased in 94') Loved every thing about it I thought I was in knightrider with its digital gauges and flip up head lights I miss it to this day but i have no regrets cuaase I traded it to get my first nissan

1993 Nissan Altima purchased 96"(thats the on witht great rear end and big trunk but opening to small to get anything into) wanted it from the first time I saw the commecial only had to wait 3 years to get it but i loved it though it did give me a few probs ity bitty motor working its heart out

1999 Maxima owned it 5 days and the dealler decided they needed more money from me and when I turned it in they had aleady sent my trade in (93' altima) auction so they had to cut me a check.

2000 Maxima when I first saw the new body style I hatted it But I t grew on me and I had to have it. The car just had ***** and the sound system was awsom (till the boss free air sub in the middle of the dash blew out and they want like $600 to replace it) some times I mis that car alot.

2004 Nissan Altima 2.5 (Wifes car) I lov it cause it so darn roomy I'm 6feet 350+ lbs and I feel like I have all the room in the world. But i tell you this if it were for me to drive I would have had to of gotten the 3.5 cause even with 175 hourses that engine sound like a sewing machine under the hard acceleration. But rides great on the highway at 100 mph

Now my pride and joy

2003.5 G35 (I wanted this thing for like a year before it cam out) I baught it march of 04 brand new of the lot (poor thing couldn't find a home but I got 'm) I love this car the power is like nothing I have ever driven before I will probabley never get rid of it I love every thing about it.

My next car will have to be the M35 but for now it is out of my price range so I will have to adopt one off the used lot in a year or two f there are any.

oh by the way the g35 was out of my price range to but I was able to get the dealer to go $1000 under invoice just becasue they lied to me about the finaince specials that were avialable and the fact that I had driven 85 miles to get there (it was an inter net deal and they already had the best offer but they were 3 cities over)

My favorite is absolutely the 03 G35 sedan. My second favorite is my former car - 1995 Honda Accord EX V6 sedan, I bought it new. It has a smoother ride but way slower and not handled as well as the G. My sister's 04 325i is also very good, my third favorite so far.

34 Years Young, 3 kids (2 carseats and a booster seat.. you should see this in the G it's pretty dang funny)

Cars I've driven:

1985 GMC Safari Van: Was the bomb until the sliding door fell off...My folks were pissed. Mom and Dads Car.

1986 Mitsubishi Galant: It was faster than my buddies Honda Accord Coupe (he was devastated by this after 5 runs... same result). My friend opened the pasenger door when I was backing out of the garage..It bet all the way back the wrong way. I tried to break my own arm before my dad did it for me (never happened) Mom and Dads Car.

1987 POS Mitsubishi Mirage: My buddy once pushed this car in the middle of a busy intersection using his car. It must've weighed like 1500lbs... every time it rained it felt like my car was hydroplaning.. i was the original drift king...I felt like a pimp with my Mounted Cellphone that had power but was never activated... I use to drive around like talking to myself with that cellphone. I didn't put oil in it for 2 years once.. it blew up on me. My buddies will never let me live this one down. I WAS 16 and stupid! My 1st car.. mom and dad bought for me.

1991 Nissan 300ZX: Talk about an upgrade... although it was really my dads, I told everyone it was mine... I once drove ~155mph with 2 buddies of mine (one was sitting in the back, which didn't have seats or seat belts) This automatic car was pretty dang slow off the line.. i think it was 0-60 in 10 seconds or something. I got taken by my friends 1991 ford probe 3 times in a row in the 1/4 mile (he was NOSsing but he probably still coulda taken me) It was a prototype.. so I was the only 1991 Z without t-tops.. that sucks..well shoot.. i felt like it was mine. Dad's car

1996 Eagle Talon Esi: This was the 1st car I actually purchased (just got rid of it after 2 years of it not running). I got jipped on the financing though.. $16,000 ending up costing like 24,000 or something. I can't believe I thought this car was fast. My buddy did a "power-pages" write up on this in "Import Tuner" he was the technical editor for Turbo Magazine and Import Tuner for years. He ripped me and my car, saying that there was no oil (he'll never let me live the incident with the non-oiled Mitsubishi Mirage down). My first car!

1997 Honda Accord: My wife's car until my buddy just bought it (same editor guy says he needs an automatic.. he's got like 10 cars.. none are auto). My wife tried to make me buy a 2006 Honda Accord, she swears is the greatest). It's got like 136,000 and a ton of issues ...radiator, tires, breaks. Wife's Car!

2001 GMC Yukon XL Denali: 109,000 miles American SUVs are crap for the most part.. the leather in mine is total crap...2 cats out..oil leaking. Hoping to trade it in for 15-20gs.. Infiniti sales guy already laughed at me when I wanted to trade it in for the QX56. Wife's Car!

2005 G35: Test drove the TL, Sti, and Evo: Brought an Sti home... wife made me bring it back, she wanted me to buy a fricken Accord but loves the G35 purchase... I woulda got the Evo if Mitsubishi in San Diego didn't go out of business without my knowledge (Infiniti was down the street). Bought the G35, but I still need more power.. my neighbor buddy down the street challenged me a couple of times with his 2004 M3 that B****. Gonna join the FI crowd here sooner or later unless I read that too many probs with FI.

Favorite Car:
G35. I know that eventually when I slam it.. put on new shoes, and give the engine some kick it'll be the bomb... but right now it's pretty cool too.

Cars I'd like to have and may in the near future buy for myself or wife: 2003-2006 Bmw M3, 2007 M3, 2005 Audi S4, 2005 Subaru Sti, 2005 M45.

For those of you that actually read this thing.. sorry for the rant.. it was fun to relive the memories.

1957 Chevy 6 cyl powerglide (mom's car)
1963 Corvair - slow, dangerous, fun, unreliable GM POS
1971 Camaro - V8 torque, handled OK, unreliable GM POS
1978 Mustang II King Cobra - all decal, no go, Ford POS
1979 Capri Turbo - all the turbo lag ever invented, Ford POS

1965 Ferrari 275 GTB - everything you ever thought it might be. Wow.
The advantage of being old enough to remember when old Italian sports cars were priced that way! Auctioned at Scotsdale when the insurance got stupid expensive.

1982 Mitsubishi Colt - 8 spd trans, Japanese Mini, cool but SLOW
1984 Mitsubishi Colt - Still slow, but 1982 was totaled
1988 Honda CRX - still miss that baby!
1997 Miata - still in the garage, 84k, lots-o-fun
2005 G35 Coupe 6MT LR/Wheat - fast, smooth, BIG fun

1984 Plymouth Horizon first car and lasted me through college. I bought it in 1989 with 50,000 miles for $1,500. I ran it up to 186K miles with only minor repairs. Really reliable little car.

1994 Probe GT first new car and definitely my favorite car. Not fast but smooth and it really had excellent handling.

2001 Dodge Intrepid ... hated it

2003.5 G35 it would be my favorite but it's a automatic. I hate automatics. They suck

2004 Honda Odyssey. King of the torque steer but it's my wife's so I don't have to like it. And I don't.

Can you believe I bought that damn 4 door automatic G35 because kids/wife has to drive it.

2001-Audi TT Roadster-still have it
2002-Ford F250 Crew Cab Lariat V10-current tow vehicle

List

1979 Sube Hatch 4WD 4-speed-Learned to drive with this car.
1979 300CD Merc 77hp
1986 Subaru Hatchback 73hp 4WD-4-speed- great Tahoe car
84 Cavalier- that lasted about 6-months bought as a beater- gave it to charity
1976 280z
1982 Ford E350 Clubwagen- 460 2bbl- Towed the boat and got me to school
1986 Mustang GT 5-speed-
1986 300E-great car-very well built, wish I still had it.
1991 Dodge Stealth RT- Bought new, has 38k showing- just sits in garage-It was decent in it's day, but now it's dated. Needs to go.
1991 Sentra SE-R
1996 200sx Se-R-bad move
1999 Passat Turbo
2001 Passat V6 4
2005 G35x

My pops always had nice cars, mostly german- The 96 993 is my favorite car and thankfully I was able to spend some time in it. The 7-series Bimmers are great car when they are not in the shop. I almost bought an E36 M3- Almost bought an E46. Almost bought a Touareg. Hell, almost bought a 1994 E500-
Started to look at 350z track editions (The bar in the trunk was a killer for me). , Legacy GT, TL-

I'd say the 300e was truly the "best" built car. The G is the best out of my list overall.
The G35x made by far an away the most sense. The performance is pretty darn decent, the can't wait to get it to Tahoe. After 6600 miles, this car rocks. The engine is fantastic. It's getting more powerful, the mileage has picked up big time ! The autotragic is shifting better. Adding the OEM 18s has really helped this car. Would like to stiffen up the shock pre-load, though don't want to lose my Tahoe privileages in the winter.
So far, I like this car more and more everyday. I enjoy driving it fast or slow. The interior works. I'm very happy I went with this car.
