Clear Bras - How, What, Why...
#46
gdriven, what issues am I avoiding? I already shot down your assertion that my clear bra is an Invinca-Shield kit. Why don't you give Alan a call if you have issues with his work? Apparently you think Alan is me- so therefore you're afraid to call me? LMAO! gdriven can't even answer a PM. I'm through with you- you're the most worthless member of this board I've seen, with nothing positive to contribute.

Just got my VentureShield!
Thanks to everyone pitching in with info on the clear bras. Just got my 2005 G35 in diamond graphite. I wanted to protect the paint, especially after reading all the posts. I eventually went with VentureShield and managed to find someone in Austin, TX to install.
Install went fine. I had to leave the front fender pieces off temporarily until I can get the Infiniti pinstriping removed by the dealer (now if it were in a flame pattern, I might have kept it!). Then I'll have the rest of the fender film installed.
Just a couple of questions. Does anyone know anyone besides Wil know anyplace to get the entire hood done? And, anyway, is that such a good idea with the heat that the engine generates? Would that be harmful for the paint job on the hood? And does anyone know any other particulars (price, pros, cons, etc.)
Also, has anyoe found a source to do the entire rear bumber of the 2005 G35 sedan (AT)? My guy kinda made a custom template to cover the rear of the bumper, but it doesn't wrap around the corners. Hopefully, it'll limit the damage the other Austin drivers and parkers'll do to my new pride and joy. Yeah, I know I could just Saran Wrap my car, but hell, right now, my car's so new, I'd actually consider going for it!
Thanks for all the discussion, it's been really educational. As for now, just glad to joing the forum.

txbuddha - Welcome aboard! ignore the bickering on this thread.......our forum's not usually like this.

No problems here with hood wraps. Venture's film has been tested in extreme conditions (cold and hot). It will not be harmful for the paint on the hood...........since the paint's already cured, the film acts as an extremely thick layer of sealant to protect it from the environment and paint fading......just be sure to wax the film every month as you would with the paint.
There's only several ppf dealers in the U.S. that carry Venture film lg enough for the hood.........it'll be pretty tough to find a company with this size of film. If you're interested, we could cut you raw film lg enough for the hood........if interested, pm me.

-you could fly us out to do this!
