I have this problem too but I didn't realize it was common. Unless my issue is different, let me know if so.

I do know from what I've peeked briefly at thus far for my problem:

1. This issue happens when returning to the "park" position only. It will seem then, that any time it's on intermittent, it happens when they are returning to "park"
When in any other mode the wipers don't return to "park", they stay in "run" mode and dont drop down all the way. This is why you notice it in intermittent.

2. With the hood open and checking the linkages while the issue is present, it seems as I recal (checked B4 winter) that the issue is actually the motor mounting bushings being sloppy. This, or the motor itself is binding when returning to the "park" mode, and it's causing the bushings to shift hard due to the added stress.

I will be inspecting this further once I get some other stuff done on the car and I'll dig this post back up to show my findings.

If anyone actually knows the problem though (I still don't know what it is exactly), post it up please!
Agreed - NOT CAUSED BY THE BLADES!
Yes, it's when the blades return to the parked position, whether the end of a single sweep, the end of the washer cycle, or right before the pause between sweeps on intermittent. I will definitely go ahead and run them with the covers removed to see if I can narrow down the cause. It was doing it immediately after replacing the linkages, so I'm confident it's something else.

Check the link in post #11 for a fix. If that fix doesn't work then the problem is most likely the wiper motor that is going bad.

Yep, thanks. I followed that thread when I replaced the links last year, so it's probably the motor itself that's causing the problem.

I saw in a thread that 03-04 wiper motors only work with 03-04, but what about putting a coupe wiper motor on a sedan?

I don't know if they are the same or not. But I hope they are. The coupe motors are going for around $50 on eBay and I can't find any for the sedan

Ill have to try this when I take my car out of storage. The one thing that fixed it for me though was when I washed my car if I cleaned the wipers and waxed the windshield they worked like a charm. Didnt even need em in the rain since the water just beaded off from the wax
