Hey guys, I have a black 2004 I bought used, the paint isn't faded too bad (I assume, unless obsidian black isn't very shiny from the factory). Would you guys advise against debadging? I plan on removing the infiniti but I'm concerned I won't be able to get the ghosting off or the paint under the badging would be significantly different from the rest of the paint. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. From what I read if you have ghosting it should be gone within a few weeks/washes. I'm looking for any comments about debadging my car, in it's current condition, it being: black, 2004, pretty good (but not factory shiny) paint.

A light buff or wetsand will clear most of it up, but you'll always see it somewhat.

Also, don't quote me but I thinkg the actual Infiniti logo has two dowels on it, as such, if you remove it you'll have two holes in your trunk. Not 100% on this though.

Yup! 2 holes behind the Infiniti logo on the trunk.

I have a 2004 black sedan that i debadged and redid with the Skyline 350gt emblems. debadging was a pain and the ghosting will go away. Now behind the Infiniti Emblem does have 2 holes on it but again I rebadged with a nissan emblem so it covers the holes honestly i dont even know why the holes are there seriously there is no need for it

Thanks for the input. How shiny was your paint when you did the debadging?

From my understanding it is only 2005-2006 have holes behind mt.fuji emblem. 03-04 do NOT.

edit: This is what I've 'heard' from another source. I checked and I have holes on my '05 sedan. So I don't know if there is any truth behind this.

Then it may be misinformation as my 05 has holes as well. Anyone else can chime in on year, and holes or no holes?

sounds to me like everyone who has a v35 sedan who removed it said there were holes.
