Post HKS Exhaust!

I've been looking for the HKS sport exhaust now for about a month. On two separate occasions I succeed in ordering the exhaust but due to the backorder my payments were returned. Need help finding one thats not $600

You realize the HKS is just the muffler right? And you shouldn't be paying $600, a little over $400 is the norm. Try these links to our vendors.

Look in the marketplace under vendors. I was quoted around $500 shipped to my door. But remember it is only an axle back not a cat back

Three weeks ago, I (w/my brother in law) installed the Tanabe Medallion Y-back + HR Y-pipe in my G. The price for the Tanabe at the time from Amazon was $452 dlvd. Great deal! Price now is $600 dlvd.

I love it, but my wife is just so-so about it.

Pluses: zero drone!!!!!! Negatives: A bit loud (deep sound, not raspy) under mid and hard acceleration.

The point here is, for the same around the same $$ you can get a Y-back verses a rear section only. Using a Chase Visa at Amazon gives you 5% cash back.

BTW, I have an extra HR Y-pipe.

That was my dilemma, I really like the sound of the HKS but it cost almost the same or a little more than Exhaust from the Y-pipe back. I'll much rather spend that money on something from the Cat/Y-pipe back than an axle back.

Buy a magnaflow and get it installed at a muffler shop. Cost about $250 - $300 max. Sounds the same.

That was also my consideration but I installed the coupe mid pipe and If im not mistaken they might have to cut it 10'' so that the muffler can fit. Didn't really wanna do that.

the coupe midpipe is the same length as the sedan. The shop can just bend a pipe and weld a flange on so you can bolt the muffler right up. https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...r-section.html.

HKS and Tanabe Medallion are my two top choices if you wanted something that's not too ricy and over the top, as well as drone.

Love the sound of the Tanabe! but I think the dual tip on the HKS exhaust compliments the Sedan better IMO.

This! ^^^

The single tip on the Tanabe is impressive in person. From the side and rear view both it is very cool looking! It screams quality!

IMO, only the OEM muffler & the Motordyne dual tips with their thick sidewall tips compliments the G sedan. The other aftermarket dual tips are thin and get lost visually when directly behind the G sedan.
