Paint looks bad. What should I do?

So yeah.. My paint doesn't look to good. Everywhere has swirl marks. I have quite a few scratches and overall, my car isn't as shiny as I would like it to be. What action should be taken. I know you can wet sand and buff. I don't really know what wet sanding does and I don't know how much that costs. Another option is a completely new paint job. That would obviously give the best results right? But that is like 3 grand.. So what do you guys suggest I do?

Is it dented? Post pics so suggestions can be based on that, not blind guessing.

I have one small dent that I plan on fixing but there is no scratches there. Im guessing you know what swirl marks are. You can't really see them if you aren't trying to. When you get close, you can clearly see that my entire car has them.

Here is a picture of the worst scratch I have. It's actually like 100 scratches bunched together. They were there when I bought the car.

Depending the amount of paint damage, you might be able to get away with getting your front/rear bumper resprayed and then polishing rest of the car. You should be able to get away for around 500 bucks + the cost of polishing (DIY or pay someone). I assume you're paint is OB so it should be easy to match. Where's the dent? Paintless dent removal may be an option.

What is the difference between polishing and buffing? Will buffing and polishing remove light scratches as well as swirl marks? What does wet sanding do?

Dont wet sand. Wet sanding should be reserved for paint prep, it will look like **** if you wet sand. It is just like what it sounds like, sanding with water to remove friction and loose particles.

You want to buff with a rubbing compound, then polish. That will get rid of swirls.
