Steering Problems 03-06 g35 sedan

I need a little help with my vehicle ... 03 g35 sedan.... Just had both Lower control arms and spindle ball joints replaced...Now when i turn it pulls to whichever side i turn to. and also the steering is more stiff and responsive. But the main issue is that pulling when i turn a tight corner... I can let the steering wheel go while turning and ill be doing perfect circles... The mechanics act as if they have no clue of whats going on. But my car wasn't doing it before the install? They think the ball joints need time to adjust, and they don't think an alignment will solve the problem. Some type of help would be appreciated... Thanx Guys...

I think an alignment will help, is your steering rack leaking?

No sir

No leeks at all... I watched to whole procedure in depth... Didnt seem like they screwed up in any way? And it only does it when im turning really tight... normal turns and going straight are ok... Firm? But ok... Its like it has a mind of its own or something when im turning tight corners. And i'll def mention an alignment. Even though they think for some reason it might not work.

I've noticed when I change some suspension parts (changing the alignment), the steering wheel doesn't like to return back to center without my help after turns.

I've never heard of ball joints needed "time to adjust". I would also check the outer tie rods. Do you notice any clunking while driving the car?

Yes some clunking, But ive had mechanics confirm that it's caused my the compression rod's ball joints and bushings. These were the same problems i had before the install though... So there's gotta be something else to it?

Well if the compression rod ball joints are busted, your caster alignment could be different on each side. That might be causing the turning issues. I replaced a compression rod yesterday because the ball joint was busted (making a lot of noise) and it is a totally different car now.

I do understand what your saying. But in that case? why wasn't this the problem before the install, because the compression rods ball joints and bushing's never changed.

My steering rack was leaking but I never had a puddle. It was just building up dirt and gunk. So much better feel once it was replaced 2 weeks ago...

If the problem started after the recent replacements, I think you should get an alignment. If your mechanic doesn't know what's wrong then take it somewhere else!

At full lock and while idling in 1st gear, my car will to the same. Give it some gas and it straightens itself out. I don't see it as a problem. At least I can feel the road now. My old Chevy Silverado might as well have been driving with a joystick. Absolutely NO feel at all and it was stupid sloppy. The G35 steering reminds me a lot of my '92 Accord. That's a good thing.

I've had 2 other places check it out, and they both said either one or both of the castle nuts on top of the ball joints were either torqued too tight? OR the ball joints i purchased were already bad... i was like WTF !!!

I don't think it's possible to over tighten out ball joints because there is a conical spacer on top.

Buuuuuump
I this thread is super old, but Im in the same exact situation, did you ever figure it out? I just replaced both lower ball joints (by taking out the entire steering knuckle though) and now it pulls into the turn at low speeds but drives perfectly at high speeds.
