Hey there, just recently got an 04 sedan and one day when trying to pop the trunk with the remote it mysteriously stopped working. Tried the other remote and same thing everything else remote works any ideas? Is there a switch somewhere that would affect that?

 

There is a switch in the glovebox area that will disable the trunk button on the driver's side to stop working. I wonder if that also disables the remote trunk button, sorta like a valet feature.

 

I'd noticed the switch in the glovebox and figured out what it did but didn't seem to affect the remote, but maybe the ignition has to be turned on or something to reset?

 

Does the on the lower left side of the steering wheel work? If not, you will have to take the wires out of the trunk lid and solder them back together. Also, check your fuses.

 

if your trunk release inside the car still opens the trunk while the remote is not working, at least you know its not the trunk locking mechanism but an eletronical/remote issue. Check the fuse yet?

 

same thing happened to mine, haven't gotten around to fixing it yet cuz i dont use the trunk much, in my case it is the wiring that got messed up, need to open it up and solder it like AARONHL said

 

So, I finally found what the problem was! Simply needed to hold the button for at least one second--lol. Yea, so somehow i just stopped holding the button and didn't remember that i'd been doing it that way before. that was the easiest fix ever. Thanks for all the input and when in doubt hold the button!

 

Something similar happened to me. I bought the G35 for my wife so I rarely drove it. The buttons had worn out so when I would push the trunk button I thought you only had to push it twice. I always seemed to have a hard time getting it to pop so I would push it fast 4 or 5 times to get it to pop. It wasn't until I ordered a replacement remote on Amazon that I found out it says HOLD. haha

i have a 2004 G35 coupe and my trunk wont open at all tried the valet as well but its off the button on my remote the button by the steering wheel it wont even open when i try to pull the emergency rope from the trunk its self. How can i fix this and where
