I picked one up off of some local classifieds here where I live, and my wife thinks that my axelback sounds better... but it's not a magnaflow lol. it's a cheap one from pilot motorsports that actually hasn't been half bad. I would love to get something really nice for my sedan like a buddy club catback or even a borla and then get rid of my factory exhaust, but I like my knockoff brand one for now. it's good to know that there are some options out there for me though.

Yeah it was a battle to get them to weld the flange, but it turned out perfect! It can be done, just gotta push your exhaust shop a little bit

I don't understand why shops make it out to be so hard and complicated! I think they are basically lazy and want to take the easy way out. If they charge the same for both Flange or no Flange.. Why not just do it the easy way and get paid the same amount, right..?

The guy kept telling me it can't be done, okay soooo look at this picture of "my friends" it is done, there is proof! hah. DO IT!

I know, whats up the exhaust shops. I had my megan exhaust put on today and they were bitching about having veld new brackets and aligning the muffler.

Just wanted to bring this back from the dead to thank OP for this post, helped me make my decision to purchase the 14815 as well. I got the muffler for $220 on Amazon, and the install was $80.

Got it put on today, really liking the sound so far. OEM+ was a good way to describe it. Not too loud or obnoxious, but a definite change is perceptible once you open up the throttle a bit. At idle an untrained ear would not notice this is an aftermarket muffler. At WOT there is no mistaking its aftermarket (in a good way). I have OEM Y-pipe and midpipe on my '06 sedan.

Here's my before/after vid with clips both outside and inside the car:

Edit:
Weight of Magnaflow 14815 sans hangers or new pipe: 13.6 lbs
Weight of OEM muffler after flange was cut off: 21.0 lbs.

Cheers,
Tim

If you remove you're resonator, replace it with a straight pipe, and add the intake counterparts (ztube, 5/16 spacer, k&n) it just gets better and better.

Yes - I forgot to mention I have a drop-in K&N and a Z-tube, but I'm happy with the exhaust sound now so I'll keep the resonator. I was after something subtle but deeper, and that's exactly what it is right now =)

Go for the spacer when you get the chance. It really makes it sound bigger, but smoother. It adds a real gentleman quality..but you know..a gentleman who's 6'4" and plays pro baseball. Haha
